Soooo flat this morning it was serene. We were accompanied by lots of jelly blubbers of all shapes and sizes, a dusky whaler shark and a supersized flat head, so large it made Jane’s mouth water… 🙂

What was the name of the little tiny fluo things in the water near Shelly? I thought they were pretty cool!

Nice flat conditions – great for ocean swimming and a board paddle afterwards – just what we need for the adventure swim on Sunday.

those bright green things are some sort of intermediary form of a crustacean, which form part of the plankton, as do blue bottles, Jimbals and jelly fish. they all come down in the warm water from the Coral Sea [the East Australian Current] which is thankfully back on shore again. Michel is usually pretty good at finding out the details! Better get on to him and let’s know.

I saw some jimbles this morning, narrowly avoiding one just off Shelley Beach. John Master’s got stung.
Here’s some links so you can read about them and see what they look like! Thy’ve even been on postage stamps!!
