Mornin’ all. Inner Westies here. So what were all the flies doing hangin’ around this morning? Couldn’t wait to get in the water and away from them.
Lovely swim – warm water (20 degrees) A bit of sediment around, but no stingers. 13 newbies and at least 300 swimmers!
Pretty big tide this morning -isn’t the moon doing something special this weekend??
630 crew getting in
Off they go
Back to a newbie signing in. Welcome Pinni from Tel Aviv – soon to relocate to Melbourne.

And here’s a young champ getting in at Shelly. Don’t you hate it when the underwater camera gets a splodge… (and ideas how to avoid please send through!)

Back to Manly… Fi1 and Fi2 post swim conference (did you beat me? did I beat you?)
7.47am. Slow swim today..
Look how far away Shelly is in the distance – it is a big swim that we do every morning.
And back to the car parked on the harbour side. Look at these great little sail boats
Looks like fun. Wish I was a kid again…
See you all next week!

Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.

I missed birthday song, too many bumps to cross today. When I use camera above water I give a hard shake to move water, then check viewfinder and wipe with finger if I have to 😳. Great pics 👍

I lick the camera lense every now and then. Somehow it helps to remove the water droplets.

Sorry Anne, I just found my prescription goggles. So the one in the men’s room is not mine and belongs to other swimmer.
