87 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful
swimmers.
What a difference a day makes… it was absolutely gorgeous this morning ! Warm, clear, flat and simply stunning with sooo many fish around, including a new fish cruising around at the point on the way back which we’ve never seen before. Check it out in the photo below. Jane do you know what it is ?? He had a dangly thing hanging from his chin and he was camera shy if that’s any help…
5 people enjoyed an early lap to Queenscliff and back and 9 people continued on for a double lap afterwards, all making the most of the superb conditions.
Debbie Hanson was pretty happy to have her daughter, Kate swimming with her this morning and she wasn’t camera shy… 😉
Brigitte Bowes and Sydney Adams were inducted into the Bold & Beautiful once again this morning with the presentation of our newest range of B&B merchandise; B&B Baby Bibs courtesy of Maureen Rath. How cute are they !!!
Brendan Maher completed his 10km freshwater swim at Penrith Regatta Centre yesterday in record time, knocking a whole 41 minutes off his time from last year and bringing ‘us’ home a silver medal !! No wonder you tatooed your number on your shoulder Brendan, fantastic effort – Rottenest Island watch out, you are on your way… !
Now what about Iain’s 5km swim in the lake, rumour has it Brendan beat you ??
Bolderdash tomorrow morning, in the water at 5.50am for our 3km early lap to Queensie and back, everyone welcome, hope to see you there.
Good luck to Alex Prendergast, Ben Hutt and Collie Kinsela in the 9km Lake Burley Griffin Swim today.
Tim’s fact of the day: “The starfish turns its stomach inside out and brings it out through its mouth. Then it wraps its stomach around the food and pulls it back inside after the food is digested.”
Happy birthday to Elaine Kindred today !! 🙂
Water Temperature 21.3 degrees.
Air Temperature 20.0 degrees.
Sunrise 5.45am.

“Mystery fish” looks like a fan-bellied leatherjacket, Monacanthus chinensis. It has a very concave snout profile. Its markings show up better if the sun is shining. There’s a big one I always see, all alone, when I’m snorkelling in N. Harbour. I think they are quite spectacular.

Wow I just found out how women can participate in Movember, this is much better than my ‘milk mo’ idea so I will happily concede to this superior event: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OF3kSPT-7n0

It was a timing glitch, but I’m claiming the victory !
Rottnest is the only channel that I’m thinking of at the moment, it’s more than hard enough
