65 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Great swim in the rain today with a little wave and chop. The water has warmed up further which is a great bonus. Schools of yellowtail, batfish and dusky whalers were out to play.
Thanks to the public holiday today we had a weekend turnout for breakfast / coffee both inside and out which was lovely :-). Oh and we mustn’t forget our bonus social swimmers who accompanied us for coffee – lazy, lazy… 😉
Collie Kinsela fronted up for a swim today despite his training swim of 603 laps in a 50m pool yesterday !! You’re crazy good amazing Collie 🙂
Alison Christie rescued a pair of aquasphere googles this morning, so if anyone has lost a pair please let me know.
Good to hear from you Chris… See Chris Cameron-Doe’s comment on yesterday’s blog post; apparently the weather in the UK right now replicates the weather here.

Nice swim again today, water temp is not bad at all, I saw quite a big dusky shark near Shelly and that big groper as well.
Derek, Iain, Collie and I had fun swimming to Queenscliff in the swell… I think we all terribly miss the 5:50am Queensie swim 🙂

Congratulations to Penny Palfrey who has just successfully completed a 68 mile swim across the Cayman Islands in 40 hours and 41 minutes, yes that’s non stop !!! Apparently an Oceanic White Tip Shark was seen on route too… Penny you’re truly amazing, I am in total awe – CONGRATULATIONS ! 🙂

Well tomorrow looks like it will be the same conditions except it will be sunny!! That’ll be good.
19c water which is clearing nicely and a low swell from the east. It may get a little bit more unfriendly later in the week but lets wait and see about that.
Collie did 603 laps of a 50m pool yesterday!! What a legend. Congratulations to you, I just would not have the perseverance to survive that.

Sorry to disappoint you folks, but I am not very fit at the moment. The 603 laps was 4 years ago, I think the listeners were to busy imagining what I used for motivation to do it.
I actually spent Sunday in Mossvale with Chardonay, a fire and friends.
PS I think Penny Palfrey is one of, if not the best ocean swimmers the world has seen. But certainly the most inspiring.
