55 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Another perfect start to the day with a magnificent sunrise and great photos courtesy of James Goins.
11 swimmers for the bonus early lap at 6.20am this morning, I can’t tell you how much I was hoping no-one would turn up so I didn’t have to swim, but it was actually beautiful and well worth doing. It’s just lovely watching the sun rise as you swim. The dolphins were out with us too… :-). I have to confess that we
didn’t see them but Greg Poole told us they were there.
There were quite a few currents around this morning, there was a definite surge at Shelly which was quite fun and the rip coming into the beach was really quite strong, it was a case of one stroke forward and three body lengths back. In fact it was kind of like swimming through pea soup to quote Russell Mort 🙂
Another 6 people have qualified for their winter badge this
morning, that’s 24 so far another 282 to go… 🙂
A silly breakfast decision has just been made, Mechelle Hare, Michael Christie, Alison Christie and Myself are up for a 6.20am swim again tomorrow morning. We’re pretty sure Kelly Johnson will take the bait too, anyone else ??
Brad Edwards found a pair of green knitted mittens after the swim too, if anyone has lost them please let me know.
Water Temperature 18.6 degrees.
Air Temperature 8 degrees.
Sunrise 6.59am.
Sunset 5.02pm.
High Tide: 11.24am.
Low Tide: 4.52pm.

6:20,
I’ll check how much courage I have in the morning but I’m pretty sure you will see me there.

We thought we did too, but it just kind of happened. I think it must be like childbirth, you forget how awful it was and go back for more – yikes
… once you drink that cup of coffee you forget the pain from before and think it was beautiful. Anyway we knew we could count on you ! 🙂

first time in the wet suit today and for some reason I felt colder afterwards than when i just wear budgy smugglers…stil wearing the warm jacket to thaw out.
can’t make tomorrow, but keen to go at 6.20 again on Thursday, if anyone’s interested?
PS i’m kinda glad we didnt see the dolphins in the half light, we might have mistaken them for something else

It’s a “Technical Suit” not a wet suit. Hence no cold resistance!

6:20 sounds a challenge to be taken up!

6.20 sounds quite unreasonable, but I guess I will be there.
It will be pretty dark as it is predicted to be cloudy at dawn. Still it couldn’t be much blacker than this morning– could it???

Those ‘technical suits’ are like rash vests – they act like a wick and freeze you to the core.

Jules,
I like to be unpredictable. That way I even surprise myself sometimes.
I might even try a 5:55 pre-swim-pre-swim

Every day a little courage.
P.S Charm says your swimmings OK but agrees less sugar more mud.
