66 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

It was like swimming in ice-cream this morning, well there were certainly some ice-cream headaches recorded at the point.

Apart from the ice blocks the conditions are stunning right now with so many Port Jackson Sharks of all various shades.

Manly Environment Centre Eco Awards ceremony was a great event last night, see one of the photos below.  There were 17 nominees for the award, of which we were very proud to be one, thank you to all of our nominators: Iain, Gaetan and Michel for one, Anna Alvsdotter for another and Julie Taylor-Mills for another.  Thanks guys, and of course a huge thank you to all of the B&B participators who embrace B&B and the beautiful aquatic reserve that we are so priveledged to swim in each day.

The winner was a very worth gentleman who worked tirelessly in the 1980’s to save Burnt Creak, congratulations !!

The Eco conference is still on all weekend with  free talks and entertainment, so feel free to take a walk up to North Head and enjoy.

Thanks to James Goins and Stephen Coulter for today’s great photos.

Another on tour photo – where is Michelle Harris ???

“Under the sea, the reproduction chain is extremely varied and complicated. How are marine animals able to reproduce in such vast, dark oceans where meeting a partner seems impossible? How, in this moving, liquid element, do they manage to overcome the challenge of perpetuating the species? Over millions of years of evolution, marine animals have used the physical properties of the water, each in their own way, and succeeded in developing original mating strategies for passing on their genes”

OMG, how cold was it, I almost cried. Great visibility made it all worthwhile.
Nice photo of the awards night, congratulations on being nominated; we love our aquatic reserve.
Now that I’ve finished with Rock Eisteddfod sewing and before I put my machine away, if anyone doesn’t have access to a sewing machine, needle & thread or fishing line (you know who you are), I’ll sew your badge on your jacket. Just bring a safety pin and slip of paper with name and phone no. on it. Will sew them this week, I usually swim Fri, Sat and Sun.
