Wow! What an awful morning. Raining, Cold, Windy and Choppy. Poor Vanessa, “the first time I bring the dog and walk and its Jolly well raining”. Them’s the breaks I guess. Having said all that, once you got in it really was quite nice as usual. Temperature had skyrocketed to 17.4c, although there was some murmuring and discontent about the accuracy of our resident meteorologist, whose integrity is SOLID GOLD and above reproach. I’ll vouch for that.
So the swim itself was as usual great. Young Sam Stevenson [aged 10] was a little bit apprehensive as he “has swum when its choppy, but not when there was no sun as well”. He seemed to get over this pretty quickly and did the double again with his mum and like everyone else that swam, had a great morning. The chop has been due to a raging nor easter which has been going all night and all of today, so the we now have quite a big swell. But the good news is, NO BLUEBOTTLES today and the wind will change to nor westerly about midnight [according to Seabreeze.com.au], so it should be calm and lake like again tomorrow and still no bluebottles. So tomorrow is something to look forward to.

Well I had a fab swim, enjoyed the swell quite fun and even managed to get a lift home in Alison’s car with the wet 45Kg hound in the back seat…..now that is true kindness. Vanessa
