I awoke at 3AM to the sound of rain pelting down.
Great, I have to blog in the morning so no chance of reaching over and cancelling the alarm.
As usual, Manly Beach and CTB, the perfect start to the day.
Then seeing the papparazzi on the beach, I knew that something special must be going on.
Was it the announcing of the winners of a new cookery show?
B&B bakers and those that manned the stall raising funds for Fiona and Em’s Dry July should have been the outright winners.
Was it Fiona and Jeff’s birthdays?
Whatever was happening, people were obviously excited.
Still pondering what had caused this outbreak of exuberance, it was across to Shelly.
There was Wilf training for his next Triathlon in Mexico. What a legend.

Then back on the beach, the celebrations went into full swing.
Congratulations to Peter Anthony for hitting his 1,000 kms.
Yes, another day in paradise with such wonderfully happy people.

A Season Opening Party for the Manly Surf Club will be held upstairs at the
Steyne Hotel on Saturday 6th August. The event will feature the band Triple
Shot, with a live auction also lined up! Tickets are $50 or 2 for $80,
includes food and 3 free drinks.

Staying safe – a timely reminder!
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. WWW badge. We are up to week 6. Get down to the beach
Please be aware that to obtain the coveted WWW badge, the only part of the body that is allowed to be covered by wet suit material. Are the feet (booties allowed). Apart from the feet, the body should be covered in non-wet suit material.
Also, a reminder that the philosophy of the B&B group is that we are a group activity and that swims are only to be logged for swims made between the hours of 6am and the final 7am swim (or double or triple or other sanctioned swims).
Swims are not to be logged outside of these times for social and safety reasons. Management.

B & B Fundraising Trivia Night
As you are aware B&B is a free for all activity, but there are ongoing costs that need to be met. To help support B&B and keep it the wonderful, inclusive, growing phenomena that it is, we have arranged a Fund-raising Trivia Night. Details are as follows
Venue: The Steyne Hotel
Date: Tuesday 12th July at 6.30 pm
Cost: $25 per head, which includes a chicken or steak dinner. Drinks will be available at bar prices.
Please keep this date free so you can come along. The Theme of the night is “PINK“, so come dressed in your finest pink paraphernalia to brighten up the night. Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed male and female, as well as the best themed table, so use your imagination. Bookings are essential so please BOOK HERE NOW. TO GO ON WAIT LIST
In order to make this event a success, we are asking for donations of goods and or services that can be used as auction items or raffle prizes on the night. If you can assist can you please contact John Kelly.
