Over 73 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
3 hardy souls; Evan, Len and Miles brightened up the dark and gloomy morning with a 6am swim to Queenscliff and back, now that’s pretty good going !!
There was lots of bright colour and good cheer as all the 7am swimmers entered the water this morning too 🙂

The swim was warm ‘n toasty, breezy ‘n bumpy with some fun waves to speed us to our well earned coffee.
It was great to have Stephen back in the water with us today, although we will miss your lovely land based photos Stephen.

There is one good thing about our summer, or lack there of, this year… there has been a noticeable lack of blue bottles !! 🙂 Unfortunately though, a couple of rogue bluies made their unwelcome presence known to a couple of swimmers this morning, it seems they clung on pretty tight too – ouch !

Lesley and her flippers wore the Garmin this morning, but… as I was admiring Lesley’s statistics (of the swim that is) I clumsily pressed start again, which has resulted in a lovely recording of the swim, brekkie and a walk – whoops…

The usual Summer Saturday 6km badge swim is on tomorrow morning, continuing on from the regular 7am swim. There are only 3 saturday’s left to qualify for your 2012 badge, so don’t miss out, you know you can do it !!
Happy birthday to Bruce Paterson and Rosslyn Skinner today 🙂
As a reminder Bruce is celebrating his birthday this Sunday afternoon and you are all invited.
The formal proceedings referred to on the invitation include the story of Bruce’s life as in “This is your Life”, followed by an invitation for anyone would like to to speak, recite, sing or whatever takes your fancy, kinda like an ‘open mike’ only there is no mike…

cough.. cough..ahem.. I did press stop at the end but there was some pressing of buttons for after-swim-analysis by a certain person who knows who they (he) are/is!! 😉 And as I suspected I swim in a fairly straight line to Shelly! But so slow – 6kms per hour compared to Jules top speed of 16km!! Thanks Jules – will try without flippers next time….

You are quite right Lesley, I will edit above and make sure it’s clear that it was clumsy fingers who made the error and not you… 🙁

Ooops, this comment above was from me. Having ‘helped’ Jules with her blog this morning I was apparently still signed in as Pacific Jules.
