09/11/2011 – 21 Today !!

November 9, 201120

108 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

45 people did the divine Bolderdash to Queenscliff and back this morning, a 3km swim at 5.50am, how about that !!!  SENSATIONAL !!!  A new B&B Bolderdash record and it’s only the second week of the Bolderdash season – what a summer it’s going to be 🙂

The first four photos are all from Bolderdash.

The new Bolderdash attendance is up and running thanks to Magnus Butlin our programming hero.  So… check it out by clicking on the attendance app to the left and if you swam Bolderdash but didn’t tick in the new green folder please let me know so we can amend the list as we only have 41 ticks, but 45 swum.  It counts towards your Pacific Challenge, so don’t forget to tick… 😉

The water is tops !!!  It’s warm az… at a toasty 21 degrees 🙂

No blue bottles but lots of dusky whaler sharks and a numb fish, check out the photos below.

There seems to be a new species around too… with moustaches… it’s fantastic to see many of our swimmers supporting men’s health with Movember, even if you do look a little scary first thing in the morning…  Check out the last photo in this blog too…. ok it’s not taken today, but I think he will look like this again soon the way he is supporting Movember… which B&B swimmer is it ???

Ian Paul came up with a new summer badge idea this morning: The WOS badge… “Wetsuit Over Summer”  What do you reckon, we seem to have a few take
rs and Ian is proud to commit to be a guaranteed qualifier for this badge 😉

So swimmers… talking about badges and challenges… what’s the general consensus: would you like there to be an official Bolderdash which counts towards the Pacific Challenge every morning… ???  Before you say yes, there’s a catch… who’s gonna run it ??  I’m happy to commit to every Mon, Wed & Fri morning Bolderdash.  Up to you guys ???

6 of us, including one junior, are booking our flights to Bora Bora today !!!  A few others are seriously considering it too.  We will be enjoying a magnificent B&B swim every morning plus two official events; a 6 km and a 2km swim which welcome flippers and masks !!!  Perfect hey !!!  Come and join us it will be spectacular.   We have Princess Pete and Sheri to thank for this great adventure too as they went there on their honeymoon early in the year and came back with the contact of this fantastic destination and event for us, thanks guys !!!  Anyone else keen ?? Please read last night’s newsletter of click here for more details

Manly’s Annual Inflatable Boat Race is on soon… Sunday 20th November.
This is a great event, costs $25 per person and all proceeds go to Tour De Cure and Red Kite

If you would like to support the event but don’t want to be in a boat your help as water safety for half an hour from 11am would be greatly appreciated.  The Steyne Hotel are putting on a BBQ for all afterwards too !!

Check out the great B&B on tour photo below of Jenny Knapman and Sue McGregor taken last week at Crescent Head.

Tim’s fact of the day: “No matter how many pieces you cut a sea sponge into each piece will go on living and growing.”

Great to be a Bolderdashian at last. One question, how do I stay awake at work?
That last photo looks like ‘Jungle Jim’.

So talking about unofficial Thursday Bolderdashes… who’s up for doing it tomorrow?
BTW: the ranking on the Pacific Challenge has gone to hell in a handbag now the Bolderdash distances have been added…

A pink cap would have been a tight fit for James with that hair.

    James,
If you grow a beard like the one in the photo by the end of Movember I will definitely be sending another donation to your donation page!
Alex is also coming along very well with his facial glamour hair.
Wish I could grow hair like that!

Congratulations, Little Tiger and all those who became Bolderdashians for the first time today! Can’t wait to give it a go.
Meanwhile Jon & I had to settle for celebrating another long distance achievement – our 30th wedding anniversary!
Go Neil, go! Don’t let NTB or any of the other upstarts oust you from the spot!!

Thx Iain and a belated Happy Birthday! Jules, we’d absolutely love to join you in Bora Bora – perhaps you could have a word with Jon’s boss about how he would work more efficiently with a BB time-off with the B&Bs!

I think you guys will probably need an interpreter there! I can provide this service free of charge, you only need to provide me with flight tickets and the hotel room :-)))
