08/11/2011 – Luitz 66…

November 8, 201122

87 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

What a fantastic turnout, especially for a Tuesday !

~8 people enjoyed a lovely early Bolderdash to Queenscliff and back this morning for Iain’ s birthday, it seems Iain
was very spoilt as he had two happy birthday songs and some lovin’ from Dunstan and Anna which he looks pretty happy about in the photo below 🙂

The conditions are superb !!!
The water is clearing, it’s certainly warm and the seas are calm az…

Our Dusky Whalers from last year are back… apparently there are some new baby ones too, there were over half a dozen of them swimming amongst us this morning, it’s great to see them around again.  Check out one of them in the photo below.

Amongst many, there were some Port Jacksons, Flatheads and Stingrays too.  Gotta love all our marine friends each morning.

Luitz Koopman has swum 66km en-route of our Pacific Challenge !!  Check out the terrific postcard he has sent us from Norah Head, courtesy of James Goins 🙂

A couple of lovely early morning photos and videos courtesy of Gaetan Guilhon, absolutely brilliant Gaetan especially the second ‘potta tea’ video from last week… thank you !  To watch them click on the links below:

Who took Izzy’s tea ??

We also have a very happy photo, courtesy of Stephen Coulter, of Peter Wood and Charlie Camphin doing… ??  I don’t know what, but it’s a great photo and you just can’t help but join in smiling when you look at it

Check out the gorgeous photo below of Leila, who aged 2, is ready to join B&B with her Grandad, Simon Cowell !! 🙂 PB080020

Tim’s fact of the day: “Sea sponges can be as tiny as a pea or a big as a cow.”

And… just incase you didn’t realise, it’s Happy birthday to Iain (King of the Channel) McGregor today 🙂

Don’t forget it’s a big morning for Bolderdash tomorrow, with lots of ‘not sooo fast’ and first timers giving it a go.  Meaning it will be a great one to start with if you were thinking of giving it a go… See you in the morning at 5.50am !!

Water Temperature 20.5 degrees – taken by a very happy Yasmin Maksut
Air Temperature 22.0 degrees.
Sunrise 5.49am.

Happy Happy Birthday to Iain & all who have Birthdays this week.
Fabulous photos & videos; brings a smile to your face listening to b’day songs, in the ocean at that time of the morning. Favourite thing this morning was the stingray, just off the beach, tucked up in bed. SWEET. Oh, and of course little Brigitte, snuggled up to mum.
Will see you tomorrow for BOLDERDASH!!!!

It’s a long way but OK! And Ragnill’s in too. Even though she hates getting up early.

I don’t know what Anna said, but I’m saying: WOW, that’s awesome !!!
A tad scarey maybe, I think I prefer our slightly more sedate whales 😉
As for the coastguards fine for whale harassment. Yeh right ! If you’re swimming or on a kayak and a whale wants to be within 100metres of you I don’t reckon you have any say in it at all. Happy days for the whale and the people if the whale wants to come and say hi 🙂

NO WAY!! It is on Friday and only under inviting conditions! If not, I rather go for coffee:-) Now, I cannot be accused of breaching blog etikette again – Heidi, what were you thinking writing that stuff earlier today??
