69 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
12 people did the beautiful Bolderdash to Queenscliff and back this morning and 4 people did an pre-lap to Shelly.
The water is beautiful; lovely and calm and nice and warm at above 20 degrees. There is a little debris stuck in the bay from the winds over the weekend and one random steroidal bluie off the point, but nobody got stung 🙂
We enjoyed the company of two of our dusky whalers this morning too, just before Shelly Beach, gosh they’re beautiful as they just glide through the water underneath you.
Izzy, Peter Wood and Stephen Coulter did some thinking yesterday… yes it’s true… and they reckon we must have at least 40 countries currently represented within B&B as we have people who have swum or do swim with us from all around the world ! So… we have put up a new page on the website: Flags of the B&B to identify the countires of origin of all of our swimmers. If your country is missing please let me know… we are currently up to 34 !! If you’re not sure which country a flag represents just hover over the image or click on it to display the name.
Wilf Deck lost his cap and goggles from the wall this morning, so if anyone took home a second pair by accident plesae could you let us know, thank you.
Check out the great B&B on tour photo below of Derek Minihane with the Burj al Arab hotel in the background.
And… this amazing camophalging octopus video, we have seen it before, but Stephen found this link yesterday where they also show it to you in reverse, it’s cool , click here
Does anybody know of anyone who would like to paddle for Brendan Maher in the 9km Lake Burley Griffin swim next Sunday ?? If so please could you let us know, thank you.
Wednesday’s Bolderdash is looking like a great one to do if you’re not convinced but you’re thinking of giving it a go, as we have quite people including a number of few first timers already committed to it; Anna Alvsdotter, Cynthia Alley, Debbie van Otter Hanson, Greg Poole, Izzy, John Lonergan, Neil Cowin, Neil Mackenzie, Peta Saunders, Peter Wood and Robin Turner to mention just a few… come on down and give it a go, in the water at 5.50am.
Tim’s fact of the day: “Sea sponges have no head, mouth, eyes, feelers, bones, heart, lungs or brain – yet they are alive.”
Happy birthday to Cathie Coleman and Anne Wilson today 🙂
That’s a lovely photo of Cathie looking very happy to have swum on her birthday too.
And a not so pleasant photo of Brendan’s arm from Friday’s sting – ouch !
Water Temperature 20.2 degrees.
Air Temperature 22.0 degrees.
Sunrise 5.50am.
Sunset 7.28pm.
High Tide: 6.47am.
Low Tide: 1.04pm.

Guessing competition!!
Which celebrity is James Goins most likely to look like when he is fully Moed up?
Why not? I would like to get in first and now complain the water is too warm.
And I also need a paddler for Canberra and can provide the vessel.

Jules: is it possible to link the flags to lists of B&B members? Pleased to see the Welsh Dragon there and wondering whether there are any other Taffs in the group.

I don’t think James will go for the obvious Magnum PI, he’ll go left field – Salvador Dali

Those flags are good but what’s the difference between England and Britain and where on earth is Indonisia???? It sounds like a cryptic travel clue..”don is in India”.
