Wednesday 10th November
water temp 19.5 (air temp at 7am just above that!)
tide low at 6:53
vibe: happy after a few days of stellar swimming conditions but a bit of tiredness showing, perhaps a bit of fatigue from many long awited reunions, adventures after “freedom day” is starting to show …
There was a bit of confused energy this morning – warm water, easterly breeze & ESE short period swell, not big in size or energy itself but requiring energy to swim through, disrupting flow or, in the words of Blackadder, kind of disombobulating (one of my favourite episodes by the way – even after watching it hundreds of times)…. or one of my other favourite words, “confuddled” (courtesy of a friends son) … kind of reflects where we are generally in society: opening up as vaccination rates soar, but a bit of hesitancy as we have been restricted for so long… but keen to adventure further afield and reunite with friends and family….
Jocie and David found the swim lumpy, definitely using more energy but they saw rays, loads of yellow tail hanging around at the point (not enough energy to swim far today?), and a bit of weed still floating around.
Becca and Daniel saw lots of rays – rays seem to effortlessly glide around…. how do they conserve energy?
Denise, Paul, Drinks, Steve and Jeanette found the energy to swim to shelly & return and then to the pipe and back…. they always enjoy their swims no matter the conditions..
Chris, Chris and Andrew saw a wobby – andrew is always in “flow” and never remembers the swim back – clearly immersed in the flow of the swim!
Tony, Claire, Tanya and Julie had good fun although they needed energy to work for it… they were able to get into a good flow from the point to shelly and back, but needed energy to swim back in….
Welcome back Lainey from her adventures up north – Boundless energy today!
Oh Chance – do you need a coffee?? how can I refuse those labrador adoring eyes?
Have a great day everyone, hope you find the energy to get outside, and enjoy the day no matter where you are & hope you’re getting enough rest in advance of the “silly season” – christmas decorations are already upon us so its not far away!
