One of those mornings… bit grey, bit stingy, bit uninviting. So well done to the 70 or so swimmers who got wet!
So apparently it was a wall of jimbles in the bay and blueys for those who headed north… So lots of debate about whether to swim or not… but never a doubt for these two though! Go Shelley and Megan!
Sterling and his gorgeous girl Zoe went to the Sydney Dance Company last night. It is now called the Roslyn Packer Theatre. I like to think they will one day rename some of Manly after the Bold and Beautiful… Storchy’s Sandpit, Spaniard’s Surfclub, Sterling’s Swimwear Stash Spot…
I love having these two back… good, salt of the earth people…
Finally a flashback to last Saturday and the Triple Crown… what a swim! Well done to James on taking the full 10 points. James won medals at Nationals as a 17 year old, but said that he had never felt as much pain in the water as at the Triple – love it! Somehow I came in 2nd, Super Matt 3rd (pictured below after being squeezed on to the rocks), Brad 4th, Todd who had a blinder 5th, Sterling 6th, Ghost 7th, Scrappy Scotty (with a lot of work to do now) 8th, Dashing Dyson 9th, Bones 10th. Next race is on Halloween. Ghost is the favourite 😉

poor thing… you were only 20 metres or so behind me on the trip north, and struggling with a bluey entangled round you shouting “I can’t get it off!!” is not a nice way to start the morning. glad you feel better

Nice blog title Bishop, sorry to see from Cath’s comment that it wasn’t entirely the case.
I saw our resident grey nurse near The Bower in the gloom at about 6.20am. I was almost on top of him/her before noticing. A bit of a shock to see 5 – 6 feet of fish a few metres below, but I quickly counted the dorsal fins and saw it was friendly!

Cath that was the worst bluey hit i have ever seen! I saw the bluey too it was as big as a fist as it floated on it’s merry way having caused mayhem!

Glad you’re feeling a bit better Cath.
I haven’t seen a sting that bad since Anne E tried to eat a bluey a few years back. Take care

So glad Cath is better. She gave me a shock in the car and had to turn around to Emergency rather than her home. Don’t let it put anyone off swimming though! I still swear by swimming very lose in to shore over the rocks and tailing someone if you are really worried!

Sorry to hear you’ve filled my bluey spot at Manly ER. As you know, I highly recommend a stinger suit but they make no claims about the blue ones, only the pink ones. Glad you’re a bit better now.

Thanks to Ken(who took blue bottle and jimble hits for the team) and the 630 crew, tipped us off to swim close to the shore to shelly was a great swim lots of fish and relatively sting free!! Wilf had a close encounter thismorning although the shark did have some smarts knew what he was up against and swam away!!
