A happy crew of around 90 Pink Cappers enjoyed a surprisingly flat and calm swim in 20.5 degree water today! There was a strong Southerly onshore wind but our favourite corner was protected.
These ladies all came together from Cammeray today. They were happy to have squeezed a 7th B&B lover in the car. She even didn’t mind riding in the boot so as not to miss the 6.30am early swim 😉
The rest of Drinky’s group.
It’s lovely Linda’s second swim with us. She is au pairing from Germany and will share the blog and photos with her family back home. (Sorry about the crazy photo bombers in the background!)
Lar and friend pose for a photo. John Bryan has forgotten his swimmers or thought it was a Skinny Swim day! (Luckily the outstretched arm makes the photo usable for the blog 😉 )
Craig and Rob are ready for a dip. Craig almost didn’t make it down this morning as he thought it would be windy and wild but Cabbage Tree Bay once again is the best place to be!
Management (and Kath)
Lucy and Lips, Blog Tarts extraordinaire!
Ed, Anna, Lori, Gail, Kerry and Lyndall with Bruce B behind…
and again!
The sun tries to squeeze out from the clouds today but doesn’t quite make it…
The start of a Shelly group photo…
which gets bigger…
and bigger!
Bruce is a bit lonely today as his ‘A Team’ friends don’t seem to be around. I hear they are on secret mens business at The Crown in Melbourne…
This Eagle Ray swam beneath me on the way back from Shelly.
Port Jacksons are still lying on rocks near half way…
and beautiful Diamondfish always around…
Back at the Surf Club Milly, Lucy and Brad try to pet Panda but he eagerly awaits the return of his master Derek…
Brad tries to show the wash bag that was left in the ladies toilets (he was lurking there again). Jane even manages to photo bomb that!
B&B on Tour
Jeff Parsons says, ‘Look John Kelly, Iceland and no wetsuit!’
NEXT Tuesday – BnB monthly dinner with Guest Speaker
The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 13th October at 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Merrilee Linegar, who is a qualified nutritionist and herbalist. Merrilee’s topic for the night will be “Brain Longevity”. The way you live your life today affects how your brain functions tomorrow. Merrilee will discuss how natural medicine, diet and lifestyle improvements can optimise brain function, prevent memory loss and decrease the risk of Alzheimer’s. While most of us keep our bodies fit by swimming regularly, we often forget about our brains. Don’t miss this one!
The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential: To avoid disappointment and secure your spot please BOOK HERE NOW
Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits. Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Do read these excellent tips on staying safe in the surf. To read, or even download, click here.
