With a low tide at 7.13 this morning and the 30 cm of S/S/E swell , it was a perfect morning for a swim. While not sunny, the rain stayed away with only a light and occasional spattering. The walk to the point made for an easy start.
Before we had even started Ian was checking on the results of the 6.30 swim and the word was not a Jimble to be seen probably the result of the S?E winds and swell as it seems to keep them out of the bay.
We had about 190 including the 6:30 mob with 4 newbies and a glorious 21.5 sea temp that made it feel like a cool bath.
As you can see nary a breeze on the water and a bit of clarity for the first time in a while.
Not sure the camera really provides a good indication but take my word for it , it was a clearer day sub surface than I have seen for a while.
By the time we got to Shelley it was even calmer.
Sparkles and Melissa practising for the next gig.
And on the return Elaine popped up.
And the her good friend Karen who made the whole distance this morning and some as she landed well up the beach. Almost a double I would say. But still lots of energy with a clean Toyota leap to finish.
Following on from the week in Lord Howe, for anyone interested in doing a Tonga Whale swim, there is some discussion bout a 2017 week and or a 2018 week with Phil Smith from “Whales in the Wild”. We are going to have an info evening where he will come and talk to us (as he is in Sydney over the break) about the swims involved and the Whales of course. I had a quick look on line at his business and the reviews and thought you may like to see them as well. If you are interested drop me a mail and I will include you for the info evening in early January.

….and 4 sleeps before the 10K swim for the seriously bold (or crazy)!
Oh for these conditions for that swim!
This morning it was so calm and glassy going to Queensie first thing that I could see the colour from Storchy’s swimmers reflected on the surface the whole way over and we could have climbed onto the rocks under the pink heart! Not one jimble, bluey or jellyfish spotted!!!!!
