Every time I swim in our beautiful Cabbage Tree Bay I am astounded at the abundance of sealife that surrounds us if we chose to turn our focus to our environment rather than the dash for Shelly Beach each morning.
This morning started a little grey but with the sea so calm and clarity great it was also going to be a spectacular swim. Today I swam with Pauline, Edwina and Bin – we heard the turtle was out near the new toilet block by the pool so we went in search but came back empty handed. We also heard reports of a sighting of a Grey Nurse in the bay, but that one also eluded us.
We did, however, get to see some beauties including a catfish, several eagle rays, half a dozen wobbies – how can the day get any better than that.
Edwina took the following pictures for us:
Back to the swimmers. Inge was brushing up on her poetry with these guys who are currently writing a sonet. We look forward to seeing the finished result.
Elaine is one of our most regular and passionate swimmers. Did you see the turtle or grey nurse today Lainey?
The water was so flat, and while a little cooler near Manly, out by the point it was quite divine.
The A-team are always the last to leave Manly and amongst the first to get to Shelly.
More happy swimmers.
My swimming buddies this morning – so nice to have Carol back in the water with us.
As we venture out in the water each morning these nutters are tucking into their coffee and breakfast – swim already completed. They start as the sun is just coming out – making the most of the light mornings.
Geoff was busy telling Drinky and Jim about his upcoming travels – be safe and we look forward to hearing about your adventures on your return.
Till next time

Deanna thank you for taking photos of the sea creatures. I am too often in a mad rush. I like the spotty fish!

Dee & Edwina, what lovely pics and a lovely blog.
I was so glad to catch up with Carol post swim and post yoga (for me) having brekkie. So very positive and valiant.
Good to remember at anytime there are so many fellow-swimmers going through various trials and testing times.
