21/05/2016 The One Hour Holiday

May 21, 201611

We are so lucky to have this idyllic holiday destination right on our doorstep.   While I can’t take as many, or as long holidays as I’d like, I do find that the one hour holiday, taken several times a week does keep me refreshed, recharged and most importantly, sane!

The one hour holiday is the one I take most mornings, leaving work and kids behind to escape to my happy place.  Like all good holidays, its the people, the location and the activities that make it memorable.  The warm, friendly faces that greet you as you arrive at your destination.  Our holiday leaders and tour guides are a special bunch,  they are there every morning welcoming old friends and newbies with a smile, a kind word and helpful advice.    The stunning location, sights to be appreciated both in and out of the water.  Today the underwater sights were spectacular, great clarity aided by the slight cloud cover above.   I love a holiday where there’s lots of activities included free of charge;  exercise, snorkelling, turtle spotting, swimming with sharks and beautiful marine life.  This holiday offers all that and more!

As the 6.30 holiday makers entered the water at Manly we literally stumbled across this Wobbygong. It was in close to the beach, where we were still walking, just smoothly sweeping along the sand.  Sorry not the best snapshot below.

7AM Tour guide John, relaxed from his mini break,  enjoys a laugh with Sophia.

6.30AM Tour guide Drinky,  who inspired this post with his recent (longer) holiday.

Happy travelling companions and the obligatory holiday selfie.

A holiday souvenir, a hoody to take home.

Looking forward to sharing another holiday with you all soon. What are you waiting for?  LET’S GO!

The Stats

Temperature  beautiful   20.6

Newbies  8   (one an American on a business trip, travelled from his hotel in Bondi,  hotel towel in hand, to join us holiday- makers)

Total swimmers  268

Finally

*Budgy Smuggler <http://budgysmuggler.com.au/>* is currently updating the
look of our B&B swimwear. They have some great new designs, but would also
like input from B&B swimmers. So we have introduced a *DESIGN COMPETITION*
to allow our swimmers to submit their own designs to feature on the new
Budgy Smuggler swimwear. All designs will be considered and the best design
(if there is one) will be used on the swimwear. Designs should be funky/fun
with a B&B theme, and preferably with a wider appeal outside the B&B
community. Designs will be judged by the Budgy Smuggler design team (and
selected B&B management). Designs should be submitted to ugoboyo@gmail.com
by *Saturday 4th June*, so let’s get the creative juices flowing. Budgy
Smuggler also encourage feedback on all aspects of the swimwear, including
shape, style, fabric etc
