The elusive cuttlefish escaped me again.

13/06/20206

BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAYING INSIDE AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19).

Also remember to swim at different times when possible so there aren’t too many people at any one time.

I witnessed a beautiful sunrise today and caught Ian and Pauline walking the beach as I walked towards the surf club.

They’ve been doing a lot of walking in the covid isolation time as well as their regular swims, keeping active and safe.

I caught Errol walking into the water ahead of me today, then he joined my table for breakfast , which was lovely.

More early swimmers heading off into the dark:

As we made our way through the little waves I caught site of people training on the beach, I love watching everyone doing their exercise.

I really wanted to see the cuttlefish today after all the videos and photos I’d seen during the week. But again he escaped me, I heard he was at Shelley Beach but not the scenic route, on the other side near the bower break.

Wasn’t my day but I did see two wobbegongs close to each other today, sleeping way down below on the rocks.

The sky became more beautiful as we swam towards Shelley, it’s the best time of day to swim. Today was relatively calm, a few waves to avoid on entry and exit, and not too cold either. Measured temperature 17.4 degrees.

Fish doing their thing on the return leg, so cute darting amongs the rocks and weed:

I saw Jill and John who have just returned from Lightning Ridge, escaping the city for a few days now that travel restrictions have lifted a bit.

More people start once the sun is up, just as I”m finishing my swim

The smile of someone who has loved their swim and about to start the day:

And then does a run to warm up after the cool water:

Jenny has been my swim buddy throughout the Covid 19 time and it’s been a godsend to have someone to swim regularly with whether it be Manly or elsewhere. Where would we be without friends you can rely on, thanks Jenny πŸ™‚

take care everyone, see you in a fortnight πŸ™‚ Edwina.

Swim Anywhere, Any time to qualify for your 2020 Once Off – Unique – Covid Winter Challenge

Due to Covid-19 and the current government guidelines limiting the number of people allowed to be in a group, Bold & Beautiful is still currently suspended.

But we recognise many of our swimmers are still swimming at various times and locations, and it is more important than ever to remain fit, healthy and connected.

As such, B&B is offering this unique, one off, Covid 2020 Winter Challenge Badge, kindly designed by our amazingly creative swimmer, Linda from Manly Mac Art.

To qualify for your Covid Winter Challenge Badge you need to swim 20 times across 7 different weeks of winter, between 1st June – 31st August.
If you are swimming at Manly, any time of the day, please continue to log your swim as Manly – Shelly Swim, this swim will not only count towards your Covid Winter Challenge Badge, it will also continue to count towards the Pacific Challenge.

If you are swimming in any other location, anywhere in the world, please tick your swim as ‘Covid Swim’, this will give you a special 19m on the Pacific Challenge and will count towards your Covid Winter Challenge.
Log your 20 (or more) swims without a wetsuit and you will be eligible for the special 2020 ICC (Ice Cold Corona) badge.

YOU MUST LOG YOUR SWIMS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE YOUR COVID BADGE(S)
