Thursday 16th July! The brave, bold, cold and still beautiful

July 16, 202010

BOLD & BEAUTIFUL IS NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING DUE TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAYING INSIDE AS MUCH AS IS POSSIBLE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19).

Another wild and wooly winter morning greeted our swimmers today. The waves had settled…so they tell me…but it was still pretty hectic as I watched the bravest of pink caps dodge the surfers and the swell from the point.

The yogis were down dogging amongst it all, representing the calmest element at the beach this morning. And loads of walkers and spectators watching the ocean in wonder and awe.

Some early swimmers boldly heading into the deep! Worthy of some fist pumping action! 💪🏼
and some even earlier swimmers emerging from the deep.

The blue boys in matching wetsuits

Beautiful folk telling me all about there close encounter with dolphins this morning. Look how happy that’s made them!! Lucky ducks!

Still dresses to impress but not for long…the next shift awaits to bundy on for their swim!

Only the surfers were running down the ramp…noted time of entry 6.59am.

There they go…better late than never!!

If you look closely at the next few action shots you will spot the pink caps taking on the surfers.

please note…I decided to enter in at Shelly today…😳

Mean while at half way, the beautiful Melise gracefully enters the water and makes it look effortless.

And keeping the bags away from the surf club is taken to a whole new level!! Who said we don’t follow the rules?

First place for “Fashions In the freeze” goes to Amanda. A home made mask to match her red specs…do they come in pink??

The calmed and warmest spot in the bay. About 18 degrees near Shelly. The perfect spot for a morning chat!

Wilf keeping a watchful eye out.

Here comes the sun…and a little bit of social dis-dancing!

It may have looked gloomy but it was truly a glorious morning. That’s what I love about our swim, it’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get.

Until next time…keep smiling.

And now a word from our sponsors!

We have received some complaints about the lack of social distancing and number of people congregating outside MSLC.

Government regulations still require us to keep 1.5m away from each other unless you live in same house,

We appreciate that you want to chat to your friends and socialise but we need your help to make sure we comply with these regulations before we are forced to introduce more onerous restrictions.

With that in mind we ask that you prespect your fellow swimmers and members of the public in the following manner:

  • Please start leaving bags and gear on the beach or step at below the ramp rather than outside MSLC
  • Keep at least 1.5m apart before, during and after all swims.
  • Arrive, complete your swim and leave.. If you are having coffee or socialising please do so away from the MSLC
  • Consider swimming at different times to keep the number of people congregating at MSLC to a minimum.

Thanks for your cooperation.
