Sunday 23 July 2017 – Happy’s, hat’s and 500km hooray’s!

23/07/201711

Today was one of those mornings when you approach the beach and know with this sunrise that it’s going to be a happy day!

First there was the solstice (nudie) swim where some 60 or so swimmers swam from either Shelly or Manly. One unsuspecting non B&B swimmer got the surprise of his life whilst meeting ladies half way, with a “oh my lord” – well it is Sunday, I think you might of made his day ladies!

At 7am approx 200 swimmers graced the Manly shore for a swim across across the bay to Shelly, with a few doublers loving it that much to repeat. It was a lovely 18.3 degrees in the water, air temp was, well cold, so better to have shoulders in than out.

Tim did a great job of the “let’s go” at the point, loud and proud, albeit upsetting Rainer who’s been away for 4 weeks ;). Welcome back Rainer!

We celebrated a birthday at Shelly before swimming back to form the arch for the two who have reached the 500Km milestone. Well done to Alana and Janet, a great achievement.

Lots of very happy faces this morning, great to see so many regulars and welcome two newbies this morning. Look at these happy chaps!

And the gorgeous Elizabeth who blogs regularly, who informed me she saw a cuttlefish this morning. She’s always smiling and happy!

Time for coffee and cake baked by the gorgeous Belinda who’s nursing a fractured foot, despite swimming last weekend to reach her 500Km. Hope it heals soon Belinda.

Sunshine always brings out the happy faces, like this Bralucy (Brad and Lucy – see what I did there) family portrait.

Lucy celebrating Beth’s first July swim.

Happy Annie and her fabulous head gear!

Happy Sophia showing off her winning head gear!

She then lent it to Sylvie, super cute!

Miss Emma and Shelly K happily showing us their secret to success with warming up after their swim! Now we know why you swim so fast ladies! 😉

I was just thinking, there was a distinct lack of toilet humour in the blog comments of late..

Congratulations to Cae and Julie! I remember doing some early pre-historic Boulderdashes with Cae in 2010. Great results on a tough swim!
