“Relief” is the word that sprang to mind this morning. The cooler, damp weather hopefully brought some relief to those fighting fires or looking after their property and families. I heard last night’s fund raiser at the surf club was packed so that money will provide welcome relief. And on a more personal note, I was relieved to see a flat ocean.

JK was in fine pointing form.

Here’s Georgina with new swimmer Jules, who’s travelled all the way from Paris.

Lyndall commandeered Jules for a photo as well.

Georgina, Lyndall and Jules’ mum, Corinne.

Corinne and Jules’ beautiful dog, Phoebe, who only answers to French.

Anne never passes an opportunity to make a quick buck. I reckon she could fund her next holiday from the sale of this lot:*

* Note to non-regular swimmers: this is a joke. The caps are free. (As long as you smile nicely.)

Danny.

I was in the first(ish) wave of swimmers heading out to the point and saw the funniest thing as I looked back at the beach. The second wave – the Sunday Strollers, the 7.04ers, etc – just couldn’t quite make that leap into the water. However, they all got to Shelly before me (time for some stroke correction lessons!):
Photobomb of the day:

Sue and Rog. Sue has just clocked up 4000km – amazing achievement, Sue!! (Although you might have waited until today so I could get the photo exclusive 🙂 .) Sue quickly swam off when I reminded her that she needed to get cracking if she wanted to hit the big 5k before this afternoon.

The water also brought relief. First, it no longer felt like swimming in minestrone soup and, second, you can see fish again!

And Rainer 🙂

What a relief also to see such a fabulous blog! After a wait at Shelly I was setting off and a whale was spotted outside the bower area. So exciting

Well done Gemma. Good to see that when your troops let you down, you come out and show what Sunday blogging is all about. I feel privileged to serve under your command.

Thank you for the great photobomb photo, Gemma! The three of us Turramurra High parents travel down three times a week on a good week to enjoy the swim, and we always have a lot of fun together, so this photo of us all is much appreciated :).
