October 15, 20183

I swam @6am with 14 swimmers + tractor.

6:30am.

Clair’s star power🌟🌟.

The Pirate.

Big surf today so many went to half-way.

Patches of sunlight.

Guess who’s bottom?

I walked to the point to check out the big surf.

Some sets were so big…,,,,

….they closed the beach.   Dave came in a close second to Scotty.

As Smurf and Nick looked on.

The rain came down forcing everyone to seek shelter.

Have a great week.

Great blog Simon, with your usual flair for a pretty picture. Those early swimmers sure have star power. Everyone who swam out through the beach this morning is super brave.
(Regret overhearing you retell the conversation you had with the guys on the shark net boats though…!!)

today’s swim was a beauty: some surf, smooth out the back with a clean solid swell passing when near the point and beach.
I rate it in my top 10 to 20 best swims with BnB.
A light westerly breeze since 4 am cleaned it up nicely: smooth and quite sunny.
The first lap was sunny with a couple of high jet vapour trails visible then the second swim to Shelly had some moderate rain, a totally different world; it was like a secret swim by the few out for a double. Still clean surface conditions with the gentle rise and fall of the solid swell.
    – after the swim, no sun but no cold breeze. Such an exhilarating swim!
