Well looking for some blog inspo during the week I searched up today’s date; 13th October– and boy did I find inspiration!
Happy birthday Ian Thorpe – do they get any better than this legend? I did reach out to the Thorpedo to invite him to join us for a birthday swim – but alas he was busy (but hopes to make it another time). Another Australian legend, our own Ian (pictured) tells me that Shane Gould swam with BnB one day – is there a badge for swimming with Shane Gould? And what a win on Australian Survivor this week- loved it!
And while we’re on the topic of Australian swimming legends – there’s a few of them in this (old) photo..
And here’s two of our local legends, horsing around pre swim;
And the leader of the 6.30 pack, he has “Aussie legend” written all over him;
Cammeray legend Jac.. rumour has it she wore through her wetsuit today. The same wetsuit that her husband bet her she wouldn’t get 10 wears out of… this woman will swim the channel one day..
(Please be warned; swimming in the ocean can trigger huge smiles in some people.)
It was a beautiful, clear 18.3 degree swim. I saw some blue bottles on the beach but none in the water. I saw a gorgeous wobby at the point but unfortunately I haven’t been able to download any of my underwater shots. Here’s a couple more land shots to finish off.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

I’ll see if I can get Shane to join us for a swim again – she loved the B and B. It was someone’s birthday that day and they shared cake and champagne and she said everyone was so friendly. Debbie ( Shane’s sister and Manly local)
