In case anyone wasn’t tuned to News24 you might have missed the chair shuffling that ushered in a new Prime Minister. I thought we should throw out an invitation for him to join us for an inaugural swim to kick of the term.
The morning was another spectacular start with a 2-3 ft North Easterly wind swell on a 6 second period. The wind was already 10 knots or so by the time we jumped in and forecast to increase to 20 early in the day being chased by a hot 29 degrees of air temp. We should see a rise in the swell marginally over the week.
Gorgeous again
You know it’s Summer when daughters start swimming again.
And at 19.5 degrees it’s time for suits to be shed.
Time to test the temps.
A warm but exuberant start
Patrick steeling himself for the testing conditions
Some of these waves look like a little more than 2 foot
But a placid affair at the point
And lots of room to move
The noreaster bought with it some murk down deep.
And halfway over we have the ladies 6:30 crew meandering back
As well as some deep sea racing Taylor looking for some space
And in the haven of Shelly most conversations turned to the new President in waiting
Then following an uneventful push back against the wind we were back.
With a few waves to help us along
And the speedy set already suiting up.
And some licking their lips ready for breakfast
And to Maria the baker of the best Banana bread, wishing you a very happy birthday from all.
Still can’t be beaten as the best start to a day. Wishing you all a great week ahead.
Cheers
Brian
And lots of room to move

Great blog Brian. Fun swim. Loved the bumps.
I just want to dispel some rumours. There have been media reports that Ian Forster is about to be challenged in his management position at the B&B, and that there is growing discontent in parts of the swim group relating to his 7am announcements as well as his messy notice board handwriting.
All I can say is this: I’m not a commentator and I will not engage in these kinds of hypothetical discussions at this point in time.
Let’s focus at the task at hand – swimming to Shelly and back.

Looked a little more than bumpy today – Maria manned the cake stall at the weekend and sold out of her great banana bread!

First call of business will be to put an end to all this “baking” .. I’m fed up with having to constantly up my game ..

There is a lot of backbench support for baking.
