With our Greg and Sue Marinan in Italy and Michele Franks at Niagara Falls and elsewhere, we had swimmers from Boston (Natalie), France (Emanual), London ( Jamie) and Gustav from Switzerland. Makes me remember that it is one world we all live in and what a great place it is so we should look after...

The few of us crazy enough to be outside in this weather are huddled under the awning trying to get as close as possible to the wall without being impaled by a hook or drowned in the huge puddle. I wonder why smart folks who design things didn’t design a drain under the hooks.  Still...

This morning the waves were causing a little bit of havoc for our Bold and Beautiful swim. Drinky told the 6.30 team to be honest about your ability and if you were in any doubt to swim from half way or Shelly. The 6.30’s head out through the waves. A bit of wave hopping. The...

With Sunrise at 5:50am , its getting harder to stay in bed and even harder to then not do the 6:30am just for good measure. This morning with the 1/2 metre residual SSE swell mixed with the north East wind swell, it was a bit lumpy but also meant some waves to ride into shore on...

Well, another lovely morning down at the swim. 16.7 degrees today in the water, lots of swimmers, a big wobby shark on the point and nice clear conditions.   Poor old Sterls broke his elbow a week ago when he slipped at Shelley Beach boat ramp. He is out of the water for 6 weeks,...

The day started innocently enough with the usual suspects gathering like crows on a branch. Even Sterling made it down with his wing in a sling. Then suddenly, without warning (like suddenly goes) the big stories started breaking. Now I’ll break them to you in the order they unfolded, so you too can experience the...

“It can be calm or still, and rough or rigid, but in the end, it is always beautiful.” The water today was rough.  The waves were unrelenting (and also full of ocean stuff like seaweed and mystery objects that make me feel ick), but despite the conditions, it was still beautiful and always worth the...
