A primaveral morning to lose your brumation.

September 19, 20175

This morning it seemed like midday by the time we headed for the swim with the Sun already so high you would be excused for thinking you had slept in.

With a near high tide of 1.5 metres at 7, it was shaping to be an extra long swim this morning.

With a half metre of northeast wobble and a 10K WSW offshore wind and close enough to 18 degrees of warm water it was sensational in. The car park was strangely empty this morning and the group quite small.

The Noreast swell brought the usually poor visibility but nonetheless magic conditions.

We were all quite spread out in the dash to Shelley.

In a moment of reflection, I did notice the ladies of the Pool for the first time limbering up for the day.

For those interested in the water clarity or haze I snapped a shot.

As you can see not a lot to write home about. Must be a burnoff somewhere north of here.

Even a small wave over the ledge as we swam over. Few and far between though.

And the turmoil in the duck dive was worth a shot.

All round an end to the torpor of Winter I’d say and the beginning of a great Summer season.

For those keeping track, my guess is just over 100 for the early and normal swim times and 3 newbies.

Have a great week people.

Brian

And now for those who missed the badge handout,

Yes, Brian, the last two mornings have been a bit smoky between St Ives and Terrey Hills with a controlled burn on the north side of Mona Vale Road.
I do enjoy the high tide swims. We really get our money’s worth!
    Thanks for blogging.

Thanks for the nice blog Brian. I love the statues.
Did anyone notice a $20 note wafting around today? I think I lost it at the wall.
I lost $10 at badge ceremony as well. Need better pockets!

    Hey Lainey,
You will have to do another winter now. 😉
    Hope it turns up.
There might be a bit of a black market for these badges. I will see if I can find one for you.
    Cheers
    Brian
