Over 76 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Another stunning morning with lots of happy smiles, beautiful calm, cyrstal clear water and the biggest Kingfish just off Shelly, it was sooo big I thought it was a dusky at first glimpse !!

A beautiful Flathead and a big splash at Shelly too.

Perfect conditions for Derek Martin’s last swim. Safe travels back to NZ Derek, please keep in touch via plenty of B&B on tour photos and we’ll look forward to seeing you when you come back for holidays !!

It was lovely to have Neil Cowin back with us for a swim this morning too !!

Chris Kiely dived down deep to salvage this poor dead dusky whaler that had got caught in a net. Very sad and proof that every little bit of debris collection we manage on our swims helps to save our marine life. Dave Thomas from Eco Divers came to collect the shark after Fifi and Anna swam it to shore and said it was ~4 years old.

8 swimmers enjoyed a bonus early lap into Shelly, meanwhile Gaetan & Miles enjoyed the beautiful calm waters up to Queensie and back and 3 people also continued on afterwards for a double. Why wouldn’t you in these superb conditions 🙂
The Sun Herald are writing an article on us and as part of this they are sending a photographer down to capture our morning swim this Saturday from 6.45am, so please come down and join in to help make our swim the great spectacle that it is.
Jenny K found this original B&B hoodie size 12 in the ladies changing room, if it’s yours please let us know or see Jenny after any morning swim, thank you. Be quick as Jenny is struggle to keep the vultures from your badges 😉

The Saxon Bird Memorial Swim is on this Sat at Queenscliff, there is a 1.5km ocean swim and a 250m dash for cash with prizes ranging from $250 to $1000. The event starts at 10am and entrants must be registered at Queenscliff SLSC by 9am on Sat.
Ching, Manly Council’s head lifeguard thought it would be a nice touch for any B&B swimmers who would like to attend to swim in their pink caps, after our Sun Herald photo shoot of course 😉
Please read last night’s newsletter if you are looking to participate in the Maui Channel Swim on 1st Sept…
Taldumande is a small charity tackling a massive task – now in their 37th year. They provide early intervention, accommodation and support services to homeless young people from the Harbour Bridge through to the Northern Beaches. Their annual fundraising dinner “In from the Cold” is vitally important to their ongoing service provision as every night in NSW nearly 11,000 young people are without a permanent bed.
If you would like to support this great cause by attending their dinner at Grand Ballroom, Crystal Palace, Luna Park from 6.30pm on Tues 8th May, tickets are $135 pp or you can make up a table of 10 for $1350, they have a great night planned and dinner includes 3 course meal, wine, beer and soft drink, to book please click here

What will Diver Dave do with the dead shark?
Apart from seeing Mr Dusky in the net on the sea bed ;-( … the swim was great – lots of see through jelly fish everywhere and heaps of tiny fish at the point!

Not sure about the shark, but the flathead looks very edible. But I don’t want to tempt fate by taking anything from that area. Sort of a karma thing — I won’t eat any of you, you don’t eat me OK?
6am early-bird to QC tomorrow anyone?
