100 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !
Yet another heavenly swim in warm, calm seas. It’s living the dream don’t you reckon, starting each day swimming together with such wonderful friends across our world class aquatic marine reserve. How lucky are we !

Even in the middle of winter when it’s ‘a little fresh’… you’ve acclimatised and are ready to embrace the swim after the gathering at the point.

Simon forgot his pink cap this morning but it must have been intentional as he wanted to show off his pink butterfly… 😉

There were two schools of fish suspended just below the surface as we set off from Shelly, it was just as if they were hanging on display in an art gallery.

Then… Anna, Sue and Derek were the privileged few who got to see a turtle just as they were swimming back to shore !!! Magic, I was only thinking about him as I was swimming back taking photos, maybe I saw him too in my sub conscious 😉
Some of our swimmers just love the early mornings, and who wouldn’t when you’ve got a superb swim to look forward too 😉 8 people enjoyed a bonus early lap at 6.30 this morning, meanwhile 5 headed North and 4 others preferred to get their distance in afterwards. Then there’s always those who just do them all 🙂
Our newest participant, beautiful baby Lilou joined us at Bluewater this morning, oh my gosh she is sooooo cute !! Oh yes I almost forgot, it was lovely to see your lovely Mum and Dad too Lilou, thanks for bring them with you 😉
A big congratulations to two of our swimmers; Sarah Thomson (who is also one of our valued sponsors from Innovations Sports Physiotherapy) and Dan who just got engaged !!! 🙂

It was magic to see the turtle, my third time in well over three years of swimming in the bay so it’s always a rare privilege.
David Ingham saw it too after I’d been crowing “TURTLE” for a good while to share the experience with my fellow swimmers. Unfortunately some (yes Elaine Kindred and Vicki Harbutt I mean you) thought I was yelling “BE CAREFUL”, so stayed well away, leaving me to fight by myself whatever sea monster there was to be careful of.

Lucky you Anna I have never seen one! Lovely swim, it was so flat and beautiful this morning and looks like tomorrow will be even better!
2 pics of the B&Bs on Sprout as well, let’s see if anyone can identify the person on the right hand side of the picture called “Into the drink”

A Beautiful day again, flat warm water, clear, lots of marine life, no wind and full sunshine when you get out of the water. What could be better??
It looks as if it will be just as good tomorrow and Derek Dreyer is running a 6km swim to follow the standard 7am swim. that is into Freshwater and back after the Shelly lap!
Currently there are about five starters that I am aware of, however everyone is welcome and we will wait at Queenscliff and Freshwater on the out and back so we all keep roughly together and have an enjoyable swim.

I’m definitely in for the 6 km swim to Freshie as I know a few people doing it who aren’t too far off my fast pace when they are going slow! (Derek and Robin, I mean you two awesome dudes!) See you tomorrow…

Do I hear 10km swim?
Anyone who is keen for further, I am going to go the extra mile, all welcome.
Remember he/she ( no inferences to be made from this please) who has the most fun, wins.

Paige I have to agree with your assessment of Derek and that other guy you swim with.
Let’s hope it’s as nice as it was last Saturday.

Big Rick you don’t call you don’t text me and now you don’t even invite me to do the 6km with you!

That’s pretty poor Rick. I think a bunch of nice flowers wouldn’t go astray.

Thanks Michael but I think it’s gone past just a bunch of flowers to smooth things over.

Great fish pics. I’d say the upper school are Sand Mullet (Myxus elongatus) and the lower one Silver Trevally (Pseudocaranx dentex). Do you agree Michel? 5 and 6 are Blackspot Goatfish (Parupeneus spilurus). I’d love to know what all the babies are!
