Over 60 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
It seems that the suit is the new clothing of choice to arrive to swimming in these days and that’s not the wet variety either…

Another beautiful array of morning colours as we started our swim today in even warmer water 🙂

Some more gorgeous photos taken early, courtesy of Gaetan.

It’s good to see Matt back in the water this morning after 3 months off with a shoulder injury and rumour has it that our modest swimmer in the photo below with Matt, namely Jim, launched a book yesterday !!!

It was pretty tough this morning, we had to endure these beautiful calm seas

and such crystal clear water. Gosh, sometimes it’s just so tough…

7 swimmers also enjoyed an early lap although it seems that John B was nowhere to be seen, meaning I’ve just overtaken him again on the Pacific Challenge – yippee 🙂
Take a look at Gaetan and Iain smiling in this photo, enjoying their tapering before their big swim from Palm Beach to Manly this coming Saturday !!! There are about 22 swimmers participating in the swim so please look out for them off the headlands throughout the day as I’m sure they’ll appreciate the support. Their finishing target is Shelly Beach, hopefully there will be regular updates on the blog throughout the day so you can be at Shelly to welcome them to shore if you wish 🙂

It was Midge’s last swim this morning for six weeks as she is off to the UK for a big, well earned holiday. Missing you already Midge 🙁

Plus it’s Liz’s last swim tomorrow as she heads back to Ireland… but not before she performs Riverdance for us at brekkie tomorrow of course 😉

Now talking of tomorrow, it’s officially the first day of winter, meaning it’s the first swim of the 2012 B&B winter challenge. To qualify for the prestigious ‘Cold & Beautiful’ Winter Badge you need to swim 20 times over a minimum of 7 different weeks of winter, so don’t miss out on the first one !! Weeks run from Monday – Sunday and of course there is no maximum to the number of times or weeks you can swim. Do your 20 qualifying swims without a wetsuit and you will also qualify for your ‘WWW’ badge (Winter Without Wetsuit).
Magnus is finalising the online system for us which will enable you to follow not only your own progress but also that of all your friends too 🙂 Thanks heaps Magnus !!
Please remember to tick the sheet each time you swim or the system won’t know you’ve swum and you will miss out on the credit of your valuable winter swim.
Did anyone happen to find Elaine DJ’s B&B hoodie, she lost it when she did her first double last Tuesday. It does have her name in it so if anyone has found it please could you let us know, thank you.
Happy birthday to Lori Szambowski who is being spoilt with cuddles, kisses and cakes this morning and also to my lovely Mum who is hopefully being just as spoilt in the UK today 🙂

I think there should be a SWWW badge – Summer Winter With Wetsuit. WWW is discrimination at it’s best !! See you tomorrow with wetsuit for the first winter swim.

As many of you may know, after the race we continued travelling in the region to some quite beautiful places including The Bungle Bungles, Katherine Gorge and, of course, Wyndham. The video is safe for family viewing.

Hi Lesley, it’s very conditions dependent, Iain’s fast mob, probably mid afternoon; us back of the packers, well, let’s just say I hope the ETA is on Saturday! Probably staying tuned to the blog is the best way to find out.
James, Ah Wyndham…paradise on earth! Great video, I especially love the the Roxanne bit at the end of the video:-)
