11/10/2012 – Love a Rainy Swim

11/10/201214

59 Bold & Beautiful swimmers ventured out and got wet !

A bit of a dreary morning with everyone huddled under cover until the last second.  You don’t want to get wet after all…

A totally different outlook to yesterday… this photo is courtesy of Duncan

Plenty of puddles on the walkway

But things don’t stay dull for long…

Your spirits are lifted for the day as soon as you get in the water regardless of the weather.  It’s always better than an extra half an hour in bed… come on, you know it’s true !

There’s nothing like an unsuspecting photo as you pull up to wait at the point 😉

A lovely calm swim across the bay.  Rain always flattens the ocean, love a rainy swim 🙂

Despite the many rumours there were hardly any jimbles… it didn’t stop Stephen offering his special potion though…

I bet those of you that weren’t here weren’t this happy all snuggled under your doonas this morning !

6 swimmers enjoyed a second lap of Shelly and despite a great night out Elaine was down the beach early enough to watch our 6am brigade enter the water this morning.

Have a great holiday Bob, see you in about 3 weeks when you get back.  Maybe there’ll be an on tour photo opportunity with the Orangutans in Borneo ??

We saw James Partington on our way back after brekkie, as you can see he’s recovering well and looking fantastic.  It shouldn’t be too long until he’s back in the water with us either – yeh 🙂  Great to see you James x

Good luck for the marathon on Sunday Jules and others.
If you run in your pink caps you’ll go much faster!

Joan, thx for your comments on yesterday’s blog – so glad you got home safely and still smiling in spite of the long trip and everything possible going wrong on arrival! I think it’s a message that there’s no need to unpack, just make a quick return:-))
Rainer, Sharon, Alison & all who didn’t make it, where were you? Lovely glassy water and easy conditions….Tomorrow!! Neil, great to see you again.

Oh Little Sarah, I feel so bad for not showing up this morning! Truth is, I caught a bit of a cold and didnt feel 100% this morning. I admit the weather didnt help.
To make matters worse, I have an early work meeting tomorrow and rescue board paddling on Saturday morning. So might not see you until Sunday!!
This will cost me dearly in the Pacific Challenge. And knowing my luck, there will be whales and dolphins aplenty while I’m away..

18.40 and looking at an incredible ‘perfect’ rainbow over the ocean and it even has a 2nd shadow rainbow. Look quickly if you have a chance.
Dr John – your wetsuit is getting very wet hanging on the rafters!!

Rainer, take care ad see you on Sunday. Will tell the whales and dolphins to wait!
As for the PC, it’s like snakes and ladders – we fall down badly when we’re away and then have to crawl back up the ladder on return. Will I make it back into that super elite First Column again?
Yes, Alyson – see you on Sat!

Not feeling 100% Rainer? What a poor excuse! You should throw yourself in the ocean at the first sign of a cold! Not many Bog Tarts swimming today and no stunts. We’ll be in that first column soon Little Sarah, can’t wait!
Good luck Jules and Robin, 42kms on Sunday, soo brave!

    Thanks John.
Girl chasing may take a temporary hiatus during the post marathon recovery but I reckon it won’t take long to get back in form.
Nothing wrong with a couple of blokes like us having a hug – you’ll get one mate.
Jules looking after me – as if that’ll happen. She will push me aside or run over the top of me to get to the finish line before me.
