24/11/2012 – Pink All Over

24/11/201212

Over 209 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !

Things are really heating up around here !  Michael’s thermometer read a trusty 19.6 degrees !

Everyone wants to be a part of it 🙂

James P is back, joining the zipper club, for his first swim post heart surgery.  So great to have you back James.

Check out the stunning conditions !  Perfect for the 11 first timers this morning.  Welcome all 🙂

It’s a wonder all 3500 of you weren’t down today…

Gab wouldn’t show her lips for the camera as she said they weren’t worthy 😉

A superb swim with plenty of aquatic company.  Including a random photographer that just seemed to appear next all the ladies throughout the entire swim.  His excuse was something to do with practicing for Monday…

Standing room only at Shelly 🙂

The bay looks superb in pink !

21 swimmers enjoyed an early Bolderdash with 6 continuing on up to North Curly, then back to Shelly and home for a gentle 9.3km start to their weekend.  5 Doubled and 6 continued on up to Freshie after the regular swim and finished with a second lap of Shelly for a nice round 7.5km swim before brekkie.

‘Official’ Long distance Summer Badge swims start next Saturday, 1st December !  To kick it off you can join in a 6km or a 10km swim, both starting at 7am with the regular 7am swim.  We’d love two volunteers, one to ‘lead’ each swim PLEASE, as Michael and I will be down in Canberra for the Lake Burley Griffin Swim.

Upcoming B&B social functions:

Not sure if anyone saw them but you had the dolphins swimming right next to you at the point when you came back from Shelly! As a matter of fact they stayed at the point for about 15min, it was very cool!
Tim may have a few nice camera shots, I did a couple of videos with my phone, will put them online if quality is good enough.

Yes Gaetan. I made sure I was out there early, mustering them up.
I did the Flipper call at 630 and Wallah, Dophins by 710. They were hanging aound the pink marker and came over to the corner for when you all came in.
I am trying my hardest to share the dolphin experience with you all.
Gaetan, did I tell you about the swim I had with the dolphins??

I wanted to give you guys a reason to comment and knew I couldn’t give Sir Dolphi enough credit for sharing them with us this morning…
Otherwise known as HOW ON EARTH did I forget to mention them in the blog !?!?! Yes we did see them, thanks to I’m guessing it must have been you guys at the point shouting out to us 🙂

Yes, amazing dolphin experience at the point this morning. Thanks Dolphin Whisperer.
Not quite as amazing as the recovery my lips have made since Saturday though. I’m still getting a lot of inquiries about the healing process. It’s been slow but steady. Both Manly Daily and SMH are working on a feature story for next weekend. We are planning to re-enact the attack tomorrow morning. Manly Council has shown interest in making this an annual event in its cultural calendar, with obvious potential to attract overseas tourists.

Yes I did, now you mention it. That explains it.
John S , you are so knowledgable when it comes to natural events.
    Thank you for sharing.
Did anyone see any mullet this morning?
John, something I was wondering, is there a reason the numbfish gives us that sly look in the morning? on odd occasion.

That is a great video Gaetan. Gee those dolphins were working hard. You could hear them puffing and panting [in french too!] They must have come from New Caledonia.

SS, we’ve not pinpointed it yet but we at the academy are suspecting something to do with the bench he sits on. We’ve noticed some heavy corrugations and think it may be giving that sly look cause it’s quite happy……
SS, thank you so much for sharing your dolphin experience with those lucky few of us to have gathered round today to hear your words. Could you elaborate here for the masses how you called them in today to the point?
Missed Miles nipple jewellery today. Did anyone catch it?
