ALMOST back to normal….
As most who swam today know I was trying to do a ‘video diary’ of the swim – and now I realise you cannot throw one together in 60 minutes! 🙁
Anyhoo I will post link later….. in the meantime check out these photos!! 😀

Believe it or not these are much smaller waves than yesterday!
Miles and Alex (bottom right of pic) had some fun in the waves today!… Brave Alex temporarily lost his Mojo after he got majorly hammered by the big waves… and Miles said “I’ve been out there since yesterday, been trying to get in ever since!” 😀

Off we went to ‘half way’ – it’s becoming a bit of a habit!!

Viz was scary!!

A smaller selection of bnb’ers at Shelly today!

Foameo Foameo where art thou Foameo!

So with all this weather it is a good time to note that it is so important
to swim within your limits. Michael Christie’s tips on how to stay
safe are an important feature of the blog and personally I have found
them invaluable. These tips help beginners and advanced swimmers
alike – Please read it here or read it again if you already have!
Here are the key points:
- Know your limits
- Know and understand your beach
- NEVER panic. Always keep CALM
- Time entry and exit to sets
- Go out on the rip
- Come in on the sandbank
- Swim a maintainable pace so you:
- Keep your breath
- Keep your energy
- Keep your courage

Love the BnB on tour pic Jules – very funny!
Nick – why is there a pic of you asleep at the table last night and did anyone get dragged, err I mean, follow Lainey-loo to the Boatshed??
Loving that everyone is enjoying the half way option at the moment – so many choices for us all!

If anyone’s interested in doing the Sydney Skinny photo shoot for the Telegraph tomorrow can you let me know – stephen@iswimtoo.com The details are:
Hey great! Please tell them 3.30pm at Cobblers Beach, Middle Head. The more the merrier!!
The shoot should only take 30mins – and they want get some shots of people running nude into the water from behind (no faces/or front bits) and then a couple of above the water shots with swimmers in the air… waving smiling… pink caps on of course!
Please give them my phone number if they want, as I will be down there with the photographer…
Kind regards,
Kate Hughes

Be careful everyone. You might find that it’s just you and Stephen when you turn up. He pulled that trick on me once..

How long before Jules is photographed “at the lecture” with a sea of pink caps ? I’d say within a week she’ll be sending over for supplies.

This is from Mark (Head of Fish collection at the OzMus) re Mauricio’s Wobbe video:
“The movie is now embedded on the species fact sheet on the Australian Museum website – http://australianmuseum.net.au/Spotted-Wobbegong-Orectolobus-maculatus-Bonnaterre-1788/ and on the Museum’s ‘All Things Fishy’ YouTube channel – http://youtu.be/OZXEnRFduXI.
There are heaps of fish species on the AM website that lack good video. If you have movies of other species that currently lack footage, I would be VERY interested to hear about it.
Again thank you very much. I’m delighted to be able to show this lovely footage.”
Once again congrats Mauricio! And I’m sure all you fab photographers have noted the invitation to submit video. If you have anything send it to me (and put it on the blog of course) and I’ll make sure it gets to Mark.

Just noticed that the second link (to Mauricio’s video!) doesn’t work. I don’t think the full stop should be there.

Very rewarding to see the video on the AM website!
I hope to continue contributing in the future and perhaps
one day film the duskies from up close while freediving!
Who knows if that baby hammerhead shows up again and
I am lucky enough to get a good footage at the time!
Such a great diversity just here at our doorsteps, lucky us!
Regards and thanks again for contacting and showing the video
to the museum!
