Dr B reporting for duty!
The seas had calmed down after the recent swell and despite the slightly murky conditions, an enjoyable swim was had by all 95 swimmers today (Apart from Bruce who had some annoying Dr tapping on his feet for most of the way back….we’ll call it a draw today BB). No sightings of mermaids or any other exotic marine life today, but I did bump into several apples bobbing around as I was swimming back to shore. You never know what you will see on the swim!

After a prolonged absence from blogging – mainly due to having to go to work, I got thinking… What do my swimming friends actually do other than swim and drink coffee?!! On numerous occasions I have found myself on a day off mid-week, coffee number three in hand still arguing about who stood up on the beach first and thought – “doesn’t anyone need to be somewhere?!”
So yesterday I conducted a study and asked people to send me a photo of them “doing what they do after coffees are disbanded”.
Let me present my results.
Exhibit 1. Monsieur Le Scrollback Sterling in his counting house, counting out his money.

Exhibit 2. The Bishop preaching to the masses / ? Taking a selfie after waking up from an afternoon snooze

Exhibit 3. Miss Jones looking seductive in the city

Exhibit 4. Mr Panton in his office at Manly Wine

Exhibit 5. The Spaniard “Working the room”

Exhibit 6. This rather unexpected one from the gorgeous Sophie Coombes in action at the Kindy Christmas Panto! I don’t remember Sandy from Grease featuring in the Nativity but I’m sure the polka-dot leg warmers would have gone down a treat!

As the photos came flooding in it reminded me what a diverse, talented and crazy bunch of humans we B&Bers are and that it doesn’t matter what your day job is…. Everyone is welcome at our swim!
Happy Thursday!
Dr B

2. Ocean Care Day – Sunday 7 December
Don’t leave Lesbubbles to do ALL the rubbish collecting on our lovely swim by herself … On Sunday week – you can help her!! Bold and Beautiful are joining forces with “Clean-up the Bay Swim for Ocean Care Day”.
BnB will team up with Manly Environment Centre’s 21st Ocean Care Day Festival by doing a “Clean-up the Bay” swim on Sunday 7th December. So, please bring a net-bag (or simply stuff your cossie) to collect whatever rubbish you find during our regular 7am Sunday morning swim. We’ll pile it up to see how much we collect, before binning! There are no official prizes for whoever collects the most, but we know our fishy friends will be grateful – as will every environmentally savvy person who appreciates the treasure we have in our beautiful bay.

It is good the seas have calmed. I always do a double take when seeing swimmers in the city in work outfits as people look so different without pink caps

Love the day jobs and so glad yours fits into your main blogging duties, Dr B!
As for bumping into exotic marine life, Lips had an encounter near Queensie with what he thought at first was a B&B swimmer swimming in the wrong direction and then a shark but finally saw it was a beautiful, very large bluish jelly fish. He, Claudia and I later saw some more.
Also saw a large black ray with Derek and Sir M as we were swimming back from Shelly…
It’s been really lovely catching up with Jules and Sir M….safe trip home and come again soon:)
