Every now and then you have those days when you find it hard to find words to describe them. Fantabulous just seemed to fit. It was an incredible 24.4 degrees which for me is the highest its been and very much a tropical special and a far cry from the 14.8 I remember from the depths of winter.
It was hard to find a swimmer without a smile. Calm, balmy and still the best start to the day I know.
Before the outline a message from management….
B&B go RED for REDFEB 2015
To highlight our fundraising for Heart Research Australia, B&B will be going RED on Valentine’s Day – Saturday 14th February when we will be swapping our pink caps for RED ones. So come along on Valentines Day and get your special edition RED CAP. This year, the Manly Beach Health Club has joined us and is sponsoring the red caps. See details of their special offer at the bottom of the blog.
Last year in February we swam over 8700 km and raised $2,200. Our aim this year will be to beat that figure and raise $3,000. To view our B&B team page CLICK HERE. You can donate funds on the team page, or even better, you can create your own page where all your friends can donate towards the cause.
As you were….

The soft sand shuffle. To each his own.

As 7am approaches.

Caitlyn Johnson(first timer) down from Brisbane for the experience.

Look at the board. Note the temp and a quick note to all dont forget the Karaoke night tonight.

It was almost a walk to the point.

Glorious conditions.

And away.

Lots and lots of fish this morning revelling I expect in the balmy conditions.

Big and small.

Not to be outdone, Melissa shows Caitlyn around.

And schools of bait-fish…

Even the Tardis dropped in…

And not to outdone we saw two Duskies cruisin for a cheap feed.
And some breeds this morning I havent seen before.

And these little guys sporting flashy mo’s.

Lots of groupers big and small.

And back on top they’re off with only a quick call for a double.

The pace was a bit more relaxed this morning with all the scenery.

Carmine was out again working on his camouflage.

There is something mesmerising about the green green grass of the home run.

And the debrief always better when shared.
I hope the rest of your day is as sensational as the beginning. Say hello to a stranger and spread the word that smiling is still a great way to make your day better than it was.
PS Last Saturday I found a set of Blue Zoggs goggles left at the beach below the rockwall (likely fell off) so if anyone is missing a set come see me.
Cheers
Brian

Fantabulous blog Brian capturing the swim perfectly! Beautiful photos really helping me to relive the great experience! The little fish with big eyes are called ‘Bullseyes’ apparently and the orange/pink fish a Goatfish.I saw squid and a large Kingfish today too.
Please come along tonight guys and support the B&B. You don’t have to sing it will be a great night anyway. Numbers are quite low but just come along even if you haven’t time to dress up. (infact I could bring along a few spare wigs!)
I also found goggles and a cap. Did anyone find flippers and black prescription goggles Saturday btw? See you tonight or tomorrow xx

Yes, truly fabulous conditions this morning. I love the photo with the Tardis in the backgroud – looks rather more spooky that it actually was.

Would love to Nick. Alas, the wife’s doing booty camp. So I’m only free for the 7am swim tomorrow.
Blame Storchy!
