Mon 1st June 2015 – First Day of Winter

01/06/20156

It’s the first day of winter!! But when I park on North Steyne at 5.58am I have to dodge 20 guys in  boxing gloves on my way to the club house.

Air temp  = 10 degrees

Water Temp = 18.6

Swimmers = 90+

The first picture is of you Clair, amongst the pre-6am crowd

The 6am crew off to Shelly, I’m clearly in the minority in my wet suit

Whose shoes?

Frosty nuts post swim “Hello” to Sabine

Fireman Ken AKA Smurf  did the 6.15 to QC

Roger the Driftwood Blogger & Artist

Dorset just back from many weeks in Columbus, Ohio to see his grand-daughter who arrived 15 weeks early

Rainer & Shaun

Ed’s out of action for a while, and his son Harrison, sister Narelle and
dog Massey were at beach today.  Harrison swam – and Massey barked at
everyone from Shelly’s boat ramp (thanks for this Roger)

Annika & Fiona from the ‘Manly Daily’ were here to do a story on the B&B

John & Michelle

Annie (swam at 6.30) and Michelle

Fellow blogger Ian (right) posed for a pre-7am shot

I like the B&B medals on the hat

He has swum with us for years but this is the first time I’ve had to pleasure to meet Simon Phin

A final plug for Annie’s presentation

Have a great week ahead

Simon

Remember to swim safely – you know the ropes. (But if you don’t, read the stay safe in the surf tips on the B&B website…)

B&B Dinner

The next B&B monthly dinner will be on Tuesday 9th June, 6.30 pm at Bluewater Restaurant. The guest speaker for the night will be one of our own swimmers, Annie Sophia – Revive My Style. Do you love clothes or hate them? Do you appreciate when someone makes an effort, but can’t be bothered yourself? Do you think you would be bothered if only you had more money, time and expertise?

Our very own Annie Sophia Larkin understands. After working in television at the Canberra Press Gallery, DJing and modelling in London and solo backpacking around Burma, Annie sees life for what it is and how humans experience it. Come to an entertaining evening where Annie will share with you not only her life’s journey, but also the advantages of knowing how to dress well and how to attract others to you by being uniquely you. With experience in media, fashion and corporate and certification in Personal Styling, Makeup Artistry, Personal Training and Nutrition, Annie will creatively educate, encourage & inspire you. An evening not to be missed.

The cost of the dinner is only $25 a head and includes shared entrees, a selection of mains to choose (incl a vegetarian option), corkage (for byo wine only) and a little thank you for the staff. Glasses of beer or wine and desserts are also available at the special price of only $5 each. Numbers are limited, so bookings are essential!

Great stuff Simon! Not many bloggers are there to capture the elite 6am’ers with their disco tech head gear. I am in awe at the uggies perched high on top of the wall statue… this is swimmer ‘wardrobe’ storage to the extreme!
