15/06/15 – Beneath the Surface

15/06/201514

“Sometimes a swim is just a swim”, said nobody in the BnB, ever.

There’s always more to be found when diving beneath the surface of the reality in which we think we are presently participating.  But reality can’t be thought, only felt.

The feeling found, though novel, is not new.  Just a deeper reconnection to what already exists within.  In that instant of connection another layer of “what isn’t” washes away, allowing a slightly clearer version of ”what is” to be experienced…  And a new surface to dive beneath.

Staying safe
Remember that there are no badges for scaring yourself silly! While it is great to extend your boundaries, it is important to know your limits.  Also, if you have a bit more experience, keep an eye out for new swimmers who might need company. Did anybody find a B&B swim cap and newish pair of goggles left in the women’s change room last Wednesday morning?

That second photo is like a painting. (Click to expand) Left side is cobalts; right side is on fire; foreground water’s like glass and reflecting the coloours. Good one, Andrew – what a classic!

JIMBLES – There were a couple on outer side of
The Point, but virtually nothing across Bay to Shelly …

Thanks for the feedback. Generally photos are selected for how they capture the feeling of being there that morning.
The first photo, the water has an almost frozen opacity; the second one for the light; then a spontaneous double sign from the spontaneous double-ers; the sun rays saying ‘see you next time’ with the swimmer turning back to say thanks; and a birthday at the tables… Because, everyone loves cake.
    Post script to this blog:
I’m sitting at home tonight, reading about shared origins of indigenous languages, non-linear world perception, neurology, healing etc and I stumbled into the work of renown quantum physicist, David Bohm.
There was a line where he says, “..if you look into the field of thought and reason and so on, you finally see it has no clear foundation. Therefore, you see that ‘what is’ must be beyond that. ‘What is’ is the mystery.”
I wonder if he was an ocean swimmer?

Thanks for the very important question Curious. The goggles and cap belong to a friend (yes a woman)! Important to point out!
