Well its Tuesday and a lovely one at that. Following on from yesterday’s Mick Fanning attack I’m sure that big fins and sharks were on the minds of a few of us. No big nasties today, although Derrick had a nasty sting on his arm.
No Yoga today, its a bit chilly.
Clear and glassy water, 16.1 degrees and a beautiful sunrise after a bit of rain overnight.
There were 80 keen swimmers and no newsboy’s today. Quite a few of us are finishing off the 20 winter swims and Melissa ticked off her 20 swims today. Most people are pulling on their wet suits, but there are about 20% of us a braving it out in cosies only. A bit of body fat helps with insulation!
The talk at the table was a second salstice “Bold” swim on Sat. The actual solstice swim with the nudie leg from the point to Shelly and back was so popular back in June, that it might become a 3 pronged event (apparently?). Officially, its not sanctioned BUT, you’ll have to be here on Sat to find out for yourself.
Have a fantastic Tuesday.
Jenny 🙂

Thanks Jenny – Yes … second leg of nude solstice Triple Crown is definitely on – at 6.20 a.m. sharp, this Saturday 25th. There’s rumours afoot about a possible Solstice Badge, which could be earnt if two of the three legs are swum this Winter …

Surely, you meant to say ‘if two of the three legs are swung’?

Jen’s first pic looks like she was commissioned to do the touring poster for 1966’s “Endless Summer” – and that she totally nailed it!

Totally agree. The image is evocative on numerous levels. It is ‘pregnant’ with the day ahead and all the activity about to be undertaken. It speaks of a lifestyle and spiritual-like experiences. Also I think it alludes to natural harmony eg the silhouettes of the two carried surboards in almost perfect symmetry. However naming it all detracts from its beauty and power. Just an awesome pic – in the true sense of the word awesome ie instilsl awe at the scene
