Invasion of the shark people!

30/04/20260

I was going to comment on this morning’s stunning surise following last night’s rain. While I didn’t get to Manly until some time after 7 I was able to marvel at the sun shining trhough the drops on the bushes in my garden, illuminating them like precious gems. I could have banged on about that for a while and even attempted some photography.

But I didn’t. When the ocean calls one must answer.

This is a new flag, I thought as I strolled towards the surf club after having nabbed a VIP beachfront parking spot. Today was already shaping up to be a Good Day.

I quickly found out this was a promo being run by the excellent folk of the Australian made Sharkskin brand. There wouldn’t be many ocean afficionados who don’t know Sharkskin, and this morning they were giving swimmers the opportunity to try on some of their range and swim with it. And (even better) anyone who was happy to be interviewed was allowed to keep what they’d used. How’s that for an even better start to the day?

Being today’s blogger I naturally took one for the team, and clearly there weren’t too many other folk averse to having a spray. Especially a Sharkskiin thermal rashie was at stake.

As you can see this was a very popular promotion.

Thanks for coming down and for your generosity, Sharkskin! And for being very lovely people.

The swim? There were some waves getting out but nothing too hectic, and visiblity was better than expected given last night’s rain.

Ist it a swan? Is it a duck?

This is neither. Same cuttlefish at varying perpectives and depths. Stunning either way.

Estuarine Cobbler, commonly known as Catfish

Don’t forget the new B&B hoodies – BOLD and BEAUTIFUL SWIM SQUAD – Paladin Sports – Australia

Orders close 9am on Star Wars Day.

Finally, what better music offering than this from the mighty Split Enz?

Enjoy your day folks
