Today’s swim was all about a paddle out for Michael, husband of Julie Isbill , founder of our swim group, who died recently.
The water temp is down to the 22’s , much more like an autumn swim finally. Conditions were ok apart from lots of algae , I only swam to the pool and back. I ended up swimming with an old friend of Julie’s , Manuela and her husband .
We all gathered at the point for some splashes and Julie’s “let’s go”, then swim to wherever you wanted.
Quite a few newbies today plus Jo cooper brought her Forster friends down, another lovely group to swim with, the Forster turtles .
I saw nothing today but algae and twigs .
Alana wore her matchy matchy cap with swimmers .
One request please when in a big group- be mindful of people nearby. I had someone literally swim over me heading towards the point. Then a man stopped near me clearly in pain – he had someone’s elbow knock him in the nose, and had a small bleed. He recovered and continued to the circle , but it pays to move slowly and carefully. I hope he had a nice swim once we all spread out.
have a good weekend everyone, edwina
