Following an epic Corso wave showdown, our sprint gang gathered at Vinis to debrief. And the topic turned to SixSeven, a quote, a meme, the height of a basketballer, a rapper called Lord Skrilla, and hidden messages in Home Alone. 20 minutes later and I still didn’t get it. Much like yesterday’s Bondi events, my brain was struggling with something that didn’t make sense. I drove down at 5.30am with a sense of anxiety, feeling that I wanted to run away to a cabin on a beach and live my life with turtles and fish and surf. But that’s the joy of community and friends, and the morning connection. We live little big moments, share the sunrise, and warm in each other’s energy. We actually didn’t mention Bondi once. And I drove away with a lighter heart, still full of questions, and ready to shine once again.

Rusty’s pitch report
We arrive so early. 20.9 degrees goes on the board. A pulse of swell showing up at the Corso. Our ringleader Brett is away, mischievous glances. Simon also away after a late night Gaga concert, so I’m doing blog duties. Pushing north. Eagle ray, stingrays, building swell. As we hit the Corso sandbanks, we start shooting inshore. Fab little waves, not too big, not too small, but just right. We lose ourselves with many, many rides, I crash tackle 2 and land on another friend, chaos and hollering and joyous fun. One of my favourite sessions. Get up, get out, it’s glorious out there today. We swim back and arrive at the ramp with crowds, it feels like holidays are here.

Thanks for the swim and coffee team. Remember don’t let your true love run cold!
