31/10/2011 – Bolderdash Begins !

October 31, 201115

60 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

10 people did the beautiful early Bolderdash to Queenscliff and back at 5.50am this morning with whales breaching just behind.  It was absolutely lovely, in flat calm clear water until you got to Queenscliff where there was a rolling swell and a spectacular sunrise.  Of particular note was Peter Wood who swam his first ever Bolderdash and backed it up with a swim to Shelly Beach, fantastic Peter, 10km summer badge here we come !! 🙂

Official Bolderdash’s that will count towards the Pacific Challenge are every Mon, Wed & Fri mornings for the duration of summer.

A lovely busy swim for the regular 7am to Shelly Beach and back with all our familiar marine friends.

Melbourne Cup day is tomorrow.  The B&B calendar says that it’s a fancy hat swim to mark the occassion…  So if you have a funny hat, please feel free to wear it tomorrow and join in the fun 🙂

Brigitte Bowes is one month old tomorrow and Sheri Bowes had her first swim post baby today, you look terrific Sheri and welcome back ! 🙂

Today’s photos of the regular swim are courtesy of Pete Bowes, thanks Pete.

Happy Birthday to Heidi James and Candy Bingham today ! 🙂

Timberlie’s fact of the day: “Fish sleep behind rocks or seaweed.”

Water Temperature 18.8 degrees.
Air Temperature 16.5 degrees.
Sunrise 5.56am.
Sunset 7.21pm.
Low Tide: 5.54am.

Welcome back to the water Sheri, I agree, you do look great.
Loving ‘Tims fact of the day’, do they wake up before 7am?

Great to have you back in the water Sheri, good on you :). Have a question for the group? Does anyone work near the Rebel Sport store in the Mid City Centre, as I need to pick up a run pack from there this Friday between 9am-2pm. As I don`t work in the city its a little tricky. I do have another option up my sleeve 🙂 if its not possible. Good luck to everyone in picking the right horse tomorrow!

According to MSW it should be an even quieter surf with half the wind and sunny.
    Should be really good conditions.
I’m in for 5.50am as long as we get some COMMITMENT from a few people!!!
