31/03/2012 – Saturday Best !

March 31, 20128

Over 135 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

The best of the best !!  What a magnificent morning, the water temperature has increased, it was like getting in a bath this morning.  Well a bath with a wave machine that is 😉

The big bright orange ball popped over the horizon and made a real spectacle just as we were gathered at the point – beautiful.

The water was absolutely lovely, very clear and our fishie friends were extra friendly too…  one little dusky even came and frolicked between people’s legs as they are were enjoying their Shelly retreat 🙂

~24 swimmers set off early; 6 upto Freshie and 18 people enjoyed the last autumn Ghost Train this morning as daylight savings ends tonight.  Don’t forget that when setting your alarms for tomorrow’s swim !!

Some photos below of the lovely early Freshie swim courtesy of James

It was sooo beautiful 2 swimmers also continued on for a double and another 5 tripled it 🙂

Peta Saunders is off to teach in Nepal for a month, leaving tomorrow.  Have a wonderful and safe trip Peta, can’t wait to receive your on tour photos.

Cabbage Tree Bay has their Day at the Bay today to celebrate 10 years of Cabbage Tree Bay being gazetted as an Aquatic Reserve.  Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve has become Sydney’s model of success as a Marine Sanctuary and the envy of all other Councils.  The event is being held from 10.00am – 4.00pm at Shelly Beach so please pop down, check it out and let people know they are welcome to swim with us in this magnificent bay any morning 🙂

Tomorrow will be light, bright and warm, so please come on down and join in the fun 🙂

Wow!! I need say no more! BEST time of year isn’t it??
Tomorrow the swell will be even lower than today and it will be full sun again. The only possible fly in the ointment is the offshore temperature has dropped from 24 to 19 in the last 24 hours? Probably not a concern.
I will be down for the early one. 6.30 in the water – it won’t be quite the same with the sun up.

I agree Michael, BEST time of the year.
I forgot to tick this morning Michael, think I was half asleep.
Enjoy Earth Hour tonight, have my transistor already to listen to the footy.

I was there in spirit this morning…I had a dream last night of a never ending lap to Shelly, with my favourite wobbie’s swimmin down below…so I went to the pool for a 3K. Not quite the same, but a guy can dream 🙂

Dave, I’m feeling a little lonely on my Pacific crossing. Miss you (hee hee) and “wish you were here”.
This afternoon’s shark alarm got everyone outta the water though. Should be fine by tomorrow morning. Hopefully.
