Over 174 Bold & Beautiful swimmers !
Another delightful swim in beautiful warm, clear water.
There were lots of surf boats amongst us in they bay making a great spectacle as they assembled for their relay race between Shelly and Freshie.
We swam over a gorgeous super sized Wobbegong just off the point. Deb & Vicki are showing you just how big on the IRB in the photo below… 😉
There were lots of dusky whalers out and about this morning too, sadly one with a tracer in it’s right hand pectoral fin.
Check out this lovely photo of Maureen Rath with all of her beautiful children and their partners who joined her for a swim this morning… Why ?? Well, it was her birthday present !!! I can’t believe we didn’t know. A very happy belated birthday for last Monday (23rd Jan) Maureen. It won’t go under the radar next year that’s for sure !!
18 swimmers continued on for their 6km summer badge up to Queensie followed by a second lap into Shelly and back, including quite a few first timers. Well done all !! To see who they were check today’s attendance after midday today.
To see who has swum the 6 and 10km swims in total so far this summer please click here and then click on the respective 6 and 10km download files.
Good luck to James Goins in ‘The Bloody Big Swim’ from Frankston to Mornington in Victoria today. I’m sure we will receive an update from Nicolee as soon as he is finished.
Good luck to everyone in the Palm to Whale swim tomorrow morning too !!

Happy Belated Birthday Maureen!!!
I hope you got spoilt on your special day, you definitely deserve it 🙂
A great picture of your beautiful family this morning too.
Oh, and I still have your towel and Annette’s blanket too. Will either of you be there tomorrow, or another day during the week?
Good luck James in your “bloody big swim” today. I hope the water temperature isn’t to cold.

Totally enjoyable swim this morning. Thanks kids & co. for making it a beautiful experience. Many thanks to Annette, my swimming buddy, who swam with JYD.
Conversation at brekkie was extremely animated. From what everyone saw and what Annette & I saw but didn’t tell them. Will keep that for next time.
Thinking about James Goins this morning, “Go you good thing”.
Thanks Lindsey, David & Sydney for the beautiful photo.
Hope the 6km swimmers had a fabulous time.

Hey Jules has the 10k from last Saturday been added to the lists yet, I cannot let this event pass me by without a badge but my name isn’t on there 🙁
Also could I please order a silicone cap – I will be there next Saturday for sure
Cheers

Hi Sam, whoops – I updated the sheets this morning but then forgot to upload the updated sheets…
All should be present and accounted for now. Sorry about that.

What a great swim as usual. Congrats to all the six km people who did it tough this morning!
It was ‘choppy as’ heading down to Queenscliff this morning, plus the added spectre of 30 surf boats appearing out of the waves to run us over. [they never appeared fortunately.] And we did an extra run into Shelly instead of the run across to Freshwater to avoid the surfboat carnival at Freshie.
The run into Shelly was terrific for me. I saw a big school of Kingfish, a large flathead and three Dusky Whalers. I haven’t seen sharks for ages, although they have been there.

Dear Iggy
You must be so proud to have had a cyclone named after you! We shall all bask in your reflected glory.

It was only a matter of time before he was recognised for his greatness. Having a cyclone named after him is quite cool though. I think thats worth a Scooby snack.

Maureen Happy Birthday, I can’t believe we missed that one!
Great photos today, looks like the water clarity is improving a lot, this is fantastic! Can’t wait to see more pics!
I was waken up this morning by an earthquake at 7:45, I can tell you it is a strange feeling!

What is a tracer, and why is it in the poor shark?

A tracer is a hook and the bit of metal line from it 🙁
