23/11/2011 – B&B Mo’s

November 23, 20112

41 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

10 people enjoyed a lovely flat Bolderdash, led by James Goins this morning, thanks James !  With nearly nil swell they manageed to get very close to Queensie headland.  Congratulations to Chihiro and Miles on their first ever Bolderdash 🙂

It’s amazing what a little bit of inclement weather does to the number of swimmers… although we still had three first timers join us this morning, Alice, Chris and Jono, welcome guys !

It was actually a beautiful swim as the water is soooo calm and still in the rain.  The visibility wasn’t too bad either.  I think this weather is here for the week, but don’t be put off the ocean is lovely !!

All of this morning’s great photos are thanks to James Goins who did well to get any colour on this dark and dreary morning.

It’s great to see so many B&B swimmers supporting Movember this year, well sort of, it’s actually a little scary early in the morning.

Linda Goodwin has had another great idea… we should get a photo of all the B&B Movember participants on the last day of the month, you never know it may even make a feature in the 2013 B&B calendar…  So hopefully as many of you as possible will be able to come down with your mo’s next Wednesday, 30th November, for a group photo !!

For one of our swimmers, Alex Prendergast aged only 44, Movember is very personal for him this year, as he is going in for a radical prostatectomy this coming Monday.  We all wish you the very best of luck and a very speedy recovery Alex.

One of Alex’s goals is to be back swimming with us on Christmas morning 🙂

Another is to raise awareness and help others, so if you would like to donate to support Alex’s mo please go to: http://au.movember.com/mospace/1755072

You can also follow James Goins’ progress and donate to support his mo here: http://au.movember.com/mospace/1774270/

There are many more of you in B&B supporting Movember, please feel free to let us know your Movember pages by commenting below.

Cae, Gaetan and Myself will be down at 0530 to assess. If conditions allow we’ll go to freshie, but if this wind has messed things up then we’ll go to Queensie. Seas are up from this AM already.

Alex, very best wishes for Monday from Jon and I. We have the same goal to be back swimming over Xmas, so hope to see you then! Thx again for ‘looking out’ for me at the back of pack!
