22/02/2011 – Dolphin Playground

February 22, 201116

Over 47 Bold & Beautiful swimmers.

Dolphins, dolphins and more dolphins. Oh My Gosh it was amazing. Dave Gibson spotted the dolphins as we entered the water, thank u Dave ! Then we could see them in the distance from the point. So upon Vanessa Wilton’s suggestion the majority of us swam out towards the Bower to see them and my wot did we see them !

It was serious WOW factor this morning, the water visibility was crystal clear and there were dolphins everywhere.

When I say dolphins I mean many dolphins, like loads, like about 30 and they just swam around us and under us, mummy and baby dolphins all together for half an hour.

What a welcome back to Gaetan and what a first swim for Lesley.

A memorable swim for all of us – WOW 🙂

Water Temperature 23.5 degrees.
Sunrise 6.36am.
Sunset 7.41pm.
Low Tide: 6.08am.
High Tide: 12.15pm.

I wonder who told the dolphins I was back! This was one of the most amazing experience in my life, if not the most! WOW WOW WOW as you say Julie, I am still shaking! We were just surrounded by dolphins in crystal clear 15m deep water, I wonder who was fascinated the most, us or them, they indeed seemed to enjoy the moment as much as we did!
Hopefully we can see a few photos on Sprout or Saltmotion.

Bloody Hell. 10k swim and hardly saw any fish never mind dolphins, have a lie in and low and behold they are everywhere. I am gutted I ignored the alarm this morning and snoozed on.
Please ask them to return in the morning xxx

OH MY GOD!!!!! I have had the burning ambition to swim with wild dolphins since the age of about 7. Now at the tender of age of 40 I can finally tick that box!!! Despite years of scuba diving, never been close to wild dolphins like that until today – THANK YOU MANLY BEACH for being such a special playground for us all. AMAZING……

Dugongs are actually just mer-people who have let themselves go a bit.
Ask Michel as rumor has it his superior swimming skills come from having mer-person ancestry.
