You have to love the freshness of a beautiful clear winter’s morning, you really know you’re alive 🙂

A nice sun hat which you only get to wear at this time of the year.

5 swimmers enjoyed the beautiful pre-dawn lap and Michael continued on afterwards for a double with Mechelle who did all three !!  Not bad in 16 degree water.

Tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year and to celebrate the occasion if you swim with us at 7am you will get your very own, one off bumper sticker designed by Matt (while stocks last).  Why not try it without a wetsuit too, you’ll feel good 🙂

343 people are currently on target for their 2012 winter badge !!  If you haven’t done a winter swim yet it’s not too late to start with 72 days and 11 weeks of winter still left to go and you only need to swim 20 times over a minimum of 7 different weeks !!  Complete all of your qualifying swims without a wetsuit and get your ‘winter without wetsuit’ badge too. Check out the list of who’s who in the winter zoo here

HEY!! Don’t forget its the winter [northern] solstice tomorrow about two hours after we swim. [9.08am]
Its one of those odd days where people run around naked and sacrifice young maidens to the sun. The idea being that the sun won’t disappear over the horizon forever but will presumably start coming back for the maidens. [Who wouldn’t??]
But all you young attractive people needn’t worry: we’re giving out bumper stickers instead of maidens!!
Make sure you get yours. Turn up and swim for the Solstice. Yaaayyy!!

Just to lift your spirits Michael, if winter solstice is the shortest day of the year, and earth constantly orbits the sun. Technically somewhere in the world it is always winter solstice. Nude maidens 365 days a year. This can only mean one thing for guys like you and I Micheal.
    Road trip.
