The life of a Sea Squirt (tunicate) is an interesting and cautionary tale.
As a juvenile, a sea squirt’s early life is spent swimming around exploring it’s world. When the sea squirt matures it settles down and, seeking security, attaches itself to a rock.
…Then it promptly digests it’s own brain.
Depending on the tide you’ll walk or swim past these creatures, clinging to their certainty, at the beginning of our swim.
A little reminder to consider carefully what you’re willing to sacrifice for a sense of security.
