32 ‘ticked’ Bold & Beautiful swimmers.
Cae Toleman and Nick TB Dowson did an early lap and John Bond and Michael Christie enjoyed a bonus double lap after our regular 7am swim.
It was a lovely swim this morning, the water was beautiful and clear and it was glassy flat after the rain.
Our friendly little family of baby squid were there to welcome us into Shelly Beach and our beautiful yellow catfish was sitting on his own on the sand just before the point, as if poised ready to get up close and personal with the camera.
If you are interested in seeing a larger version of any of the photos, just click on them and they should pop up larger in a new window.
Lots of stingarees around this morning too, there was one in particular out in the middle that had lots of fish all around it kicking up the sand. Not sure what was going on, but it was kinda cute.
A pod of dolphins cruised past the point just before 9am.

How nice is that ! That would have been Patrick Coleman. Glad to hear they put on a show for you down there Patrick, but hope you come back for your regular swim with us tomorrow and hope to see you for your Manly swim on Wednesday Laurrie 🙂
Tim’s fact of the day: “Fish can’t close their eyes. They have no eyelids.”

What a beautiful catfish photo – it’s an Estuary Catfish and one of the yellowest I’ve seen. Don’t you love his gorgeous blue eyes? According to my book there are venomous spines on the fins, so try not to touch him.

The photos really don’t do justice to quite how lovely a swim it was today!!! It just looks gloomy and wet!
Top swim though!!!

Couldn’t agree more Cae. It was a top swim and will be even better tomorrow!!
There will be no detectable swell and it will be sunny!! How good is that?? Also the water temperature will be over 19c [I’ll see to it] and the breeze will be a mere Zephyr at 10kph from the southeast.
Too good to miss, I’ll be down for an early swim at 6.20. Anyone else??

Should be good for an early @ 6:20 – my pink cap split so I’ll need to get a replacement. Does that mean my head swells in salt water ?

Nice encounter Julie. Great to swim at glassy water. We are in France meeting with Nabaiji. We’ll let you know. All best.

Gosh wouldn’t that be awful, having to observe dolphins and whales all day ! I have a feeling I may loose my footing and fall in occasionally… 😉
