130 Bold & Beautiful and very sunny swimmers today!
And WOW what a beautiful morning it was too. Our little patch of paradise on earth was basking in the sunshine, the water was warm, clear as crystal and so flat it was like frolicking in an aquarium.

Chris Kiely foolishly went away on holidays. Meanwhile, Ms Alvsdotter passed him convincingly on the Pacific challenge (hee hee). Chris, how does it feel to be number nine again? Wipe your tears, dear Pacific challenge nemesis, and see if you can catch me.
Yes, it was one of those mornings when all the sea creatures came out to play with us. At least three wobbegongs were spotted, lots of male and female gropers, rays, duskies, sandy whitings and Michael saw the biggest flathead ever in his swimming career. (It was THIS big)

This morning, lots of us signed the the lovely birthday card made by Kelly Allen for Bruce Patterson whose 83rd birthday we’re celebrating this afternoon. All welcome! It’s at Humph Hall, 85 Allambie Road from 3pm onwards. Bring a plate to share, or just bring yourself.
In addition, we have some beautiful shots from Deb Hansen today. Look at that amazing wobbegong!

This morning’s sand cigars from Simon Cowell…
Water temperature: 23.4
Air temperature: Nice
High tide: Later today
Low tide: Pretty much when we swam

Oh such great shots!
That Wobbegong was magnificent, even though I did fear for a moment it was heading for my soft underbelly after reading about the habits of wobbies in the herald yesterday!
I have some shots but hope to do better tomorrow, where do I send jpegs?
I am stealing that wobby pic, it’s too good not to.

Simon, Roberto and myself found some, what I will call ‘sand cigars’ off the point on the way back. These were about 4-8cm long made of sand and hollow. They were rolling back and forth with the waves. Simon took some pics…he mentioned he would mail them to Jules for identification today.

That sounds very intriguing Richard!

When I see the pics I’ll check in my Invertebrate book. If noone in B&B knows what they are, I’ll ask the OzMus experts.

Sand cigars are now uploaded above… weird yeh.
Simon said they were hollow cylinders of sand located in 3 metres of water off the point at Manly.

I know, Jules, that was a bit rough. Poor Chris. That’ll teach him not to take holidays away though, no doubt.
Re the weekend’s blogging, I’ve enjoyed it very much and couldn’t have done it without my outstanding technical support Michael. No cables in a knot when Michael’s by the control panel 🙂

Just for archives 5 intrepid souls swam to Freshy and back. Did 2 laps in the pool and swam back. James, Kai, Anna (newbie for B&B) , Collide & I all braved the little bities and struggled through the glorious conditions. Gorgeous.
